I only whated what I was owed from them and they end up sacking me, the only time i stand up for myself and look where it gets me.

I'd advise you to contact the Citizens Advice Bureau as soon as possible & they can advise you of your rights. Most solicitors will also give you 20 minutes of free advice & CAB will beable to tell you which ones do in your area.

They may have been looking for the slightest reason to get rid as they've just sacked hundreds in one of the Orange call centres here in the North East to move their jobs to India.

    Hi Maria

So sorry to hear the news. I may have missed something however is it Vodafone or Orange that have fired you? If Vodafone maybe you could contact Orange and ask for news? If they are not ready for you yet maybe you could temp for other call centres through an agency? From memory Legal and General have a call centre in Cardiff?

    Everything crossed for you.

Aw hun I'm so sorry to hear your news. Lots of virtual hugs to you, please contact CAB for advice - particularly if they owe you money. I hope 'hubby' has been OK with you as it is NOT YOUR FAULT. Anything I or your extended family on here can do in the meantime just shout. xxx

    HI Maria
Sorry to hear about your job. But there is a process for sacking people, and if this came out of the blue then they have not followed it. Were you in the union where you worked, or was there a union there? If so then maybe they could help.

How long have you worked there for? I am assuming you were not on a probationary period? As other posters have said, you need urgently to seek advice, eg from the CAB. I know that you didn't like the job, but if they sack without following the company procedure (which they have to by law), then you are in line for compensation if it went to an Industrial Tribunal.

Others will be a long later who are more knowledgeable about this

i was on probation, all have a probation for 11months who work there. I had been there for 3 1/2 mths. dealership of vodafone it was. I am applying for jobs now and will be going into town tomorrow to look for something.

Went to CAB about finances and I didnt get anywhere they basically fobbed me off.

11 month probabation? That is criminal! They must do it so they can fire people at any time. If it wasn't for your situation I would say that you are better off out of it, but of course the moral high ground is OK if you have the bank balance to support it.

Oh Maria, if there is anything I can do, or anyone here, let us know.

Like the others above, I'm sorry to hear about your job Maria.

Your resilience is amazing - getting right back out there looking for another job and going to the CAB immediately. You are doing everything you can and I really hope something comes up quick for you.

Good luck tomorrow in town. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.
