Caravanning in Northern Ireland

Hi, is anyone a member of The Caravan Club or The Camping and Caravanning Club?

Just got a caravan and new to all this although we've camped in a tent quite a bit.

Was wondering what the benefits are to joining any of the Clubs. Would be interested in small quiet sites. Do you find if you are a member of the Club that they are booked up all the time?

Are there even many sites in NI and RoI to make it worth while joining a Club? Not sure if we would travel further afield at this stage although the campsites in Scotland and England seem better geared up than here.

There are quite a few CL sites run by the Caravan Club in N.I. CL stands for Certified Location and are sites which are small and don't have many facilities but the up side is that they are quiet. There is quite a good network in N.I. and I'll get back to you on exactly how many as I've got someone I can ask.

The C&CC is a different kind of outfit. They have events or rallies where they go to various places, including Forest parks, National Trust Properties and rugby clubs or schools. They are having an event near me next weekend as I'm interested in joining the C&CC too. There are two groups within NI. THere is the Northern Ireland District Association and the County down District Association. They both have their own website but as a new user I cant post the link. Go to the C&CC website and search for District Associations.

both clubs are about £40 to join but then they pay for themselves with cheaper site fees.
