I don't buy my cars based on how dear they are though.
I buy them on how much they don't cost me.
The peugeot has cost next to nothing in the three years I've had it, and I'm pleased to say, did all it's depreciation years ago.

Well, I ended up buying a Honda Jazz after all. It took £40 of petrol and did 460 miles of motorway driving before the petrol light came on. So I am very happy with it, and it is lovely to drive. The only thing missing is the car aerial. Can i buy one anywhere easily?
BTW, it was '06, 46k and with 6 months tax and full MOT. The Polo I had looked at, I decided against, as the guy selling it, a trader, said that the previous owner had 'lost' the service history. He said it had been serviced by Isaac Agnew's which is the largest VW dealership in NI, but I didn't get any joy from them when I tried to get the service history from them.

Unless you see a proof of this, assume the car has no service history!
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Well done Rosie, a great choice and far better than the Polo, and certainly one with a "missing" service history. Enjoy.

Which bit of the aerial is missing?
If it's the screw on bit, any motor factor should have one that will fit.

Was able to nick the aerial from our old polo and it's working rightly. Still happy with our new wee car. Drives smoothly, but dh not happy that it is not very 'high spec' compared to others. I think we got a good deal for our money.

Honda Jazz was designed for women,
    after a focus group study,
resulting in a mindboggling number of cupholders.

To that end, they seem to have succeeded.
