The spelling is perfect. There is only 1 comma missing for minimally correct punctuation. And I can understand it - it is quite clearly written.

Plus it drive a coach and horses through correct grammar. Way to write!!!!

An interesting thread. Personally, I hate to see punctuation and spelling mistakes. Many people seem to try to use the excuse that they are typing in a hurry. But I'm afraid that that excuse does not really hold water. The simple fact is, that they cannot be bothered to check what they have written. Even though this forum does automatic spell checking for them. There is a world of difference between a typing error and a spelling mistake. I do not claim to have a better standard of reading and writing than average. But I would not dream of posting anything that had a red underline in the reply box. I have been called a pedant before on this forum and I am proud of it. I am glad to see from some of the posts, that I am not entirely alone.
Some time ago, I was replying to someone who called me a pedant and I actually spelt the word 'pendant'. Of course, the spell checker did not pick up this mistake, because pendant was actually spelt correctly. As I can take a laugh against myself, I did not edit out the mistake when it was eventually pointed out to me. I hope other people had a bit of a laugh over the incident.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

This is still a requirement but the standard of GCSE is so appallingly low these days that even having a decent grade is no guarantee of a decent standard of literacy (or numeracy for that matter!).

We have agreed on this subject before, I think! :A

I know a Primary School teacher who had to re-take her GCSE Maths for three years running and still struggled to get grade C. She is a lovely girl, but I'm so glad she isn't teaching my child.

I used to work as a teaching assistant in a very large Secondary School - what an eye-opener! There seemed to be a sliding scale of literacy depending largely on the age of the teacher, even in the English Department. (No offence intended, young teachers - I am generalising!)
