Well, that could suggest something in the Solanaceae family - which includes tomatoes and potatoes but also the nightshades, and datura and nicotiana to mention just a few. Some are quite fast growing - and all have trumpet shaped flowers - either small like a tomato or huge like datura. Most are, to some extent at least, toxic.

The leaves and growth match Solanaceae quite well - looks a bit like one of the annual Nightshades but bigger than normal. But post a photo of a flower when you can!

Long shot as you said the flowers were white and although this does occasionaly have white, more usual its lilac.
