I took my elderly Mum to Morrisons on Saturday. The car park is an odd design with a pavement all around it, but only one drop kerb that leads from the store down on to the car park itself. Imagine my amazement when I get to the drop kerb with a trolley full of goods to see this:

In front of me is another elderly couple who's trolley very narrowly misses taking the front wing off the mini as it falls down the kerb.

I took the photo in to store and they put a call out. One inconsiderate moron caused so much hassle to so many people for hours, simply because he/she couldnt be arsed to park in one of the dozens of free spaces in the rest of the car park.

What parking idiots have you come across?

I think the best (worst?) we saw was in France. Guy trying to parallel park in a busy town centre decide to use his bumpers to push a Citroen CV backwards so that he could get his Renault in a space :)
  • There's a website called barryboys.co.uk if I can remember and people submit photos of chavved up cars they see on the road, all we need now is a website to take pictures of dodgy parking to shame them :D

I think thats par for the course in France to be honest. I recall sitting in a Cafe in Paris watching a small citroen type car attempting to get into a space that was obviously half a car width too small. I was also stunned when he pushed the van behind then the car in front until he fitted in. I was gobsmacked. Even more so when the van driver who he had repeatedly hit came out, exchanged pleasantries with the driver and left like nothing had happened

I've pushed people out the way before now, if parking is difficult in town and there's space for 3 large parallel parked cars and some idiot parks in 2 spaces.... I'll drive around looking for an alternative, but if there is none he/she can expect to find their car "moved" forward/backward into one space when they return.

I carry a big fluffy rug in my boot for just such an occasion :D
You have to check the cars not in gear first though!!

So yeah, worst parking would be people who take up two parallel parking spaces when space is at a premium.
People who double park on a narrow road.
People who park 2 ft away from the kerb.

This can often be circumstance. A car parked between, say, two large white vans. When the vans move, 2 minis park in their place. The car previously parked perfectly in the middle will now appear to be parked "ridiculously."

If I witness anyone - with or without a rug "moving" a parked car, I'll report them to both the police and the owner of the car. And if it's my car you're moving I'll call an ambulance for you.

Once watched a woman spend a good five minutes struggling to get a large MPV into a small space in a Tesco carpark because it was close to the entrance.

Then she discovered that there wasn't enough room to open the door and get out.

She had to go and park in one of the hundreds of empty spaces in the rest of the carpark.

In the Algarve I saw a woman pushing backwards and forwards to squeeze a 4m car into a 3m gap, didn't even look embarassed and noone raised an eyebrow.

There's some good parking clips on youtube, mostly of women filmed by giggling men.
