hi there having a stag do sept in edin or glasgow .anyone any good ideas

At my local highland games at the weekend there was a group of English blokes on a stagger, easy to spot as they had matching t-shirts with the grooms photo on. They entered the groom (in a kilt) in all the "heavy" events such as caber tossing and light and heavy stones etc. which was very funny as he was about 5' 8" and slightly built compared to the other beefy competitors and they entered as a team in the tug of war. They certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I have just been on a hen weekend to liverpool.
although it was a little prciey...the thing im mentioning is in response to someones post about t-shirts.
the hen & bridesmaid bought plain black t-shirts & bought transger diamtees & ironed them on them selves. cheap but very effective

    thanks

  • Hi Ladies,

If you are trying to organise a cheap hen do why not hold a FREE Ann Summers Party, the hostess gets 10% of the value of sales on the night to use against her own order therefore she can get herself a present to help her remember her special night. Its a great Ladies night in and all you have to do is provide a venue. Could be someones house, therefore again NO COST. The more people that order items the more the hostess gets off her order and there are free party games with prizes.

A great idea for a cheap hen do or something cheap to do on a hen do is a massage or beauty pamper party. If you book through a company then you will pay an arm and a leg but if you contact a therapist directly then they are normally willing to do really cheaply.

We used ones in Edinburgh and they were really good. We used gumtree and found emailed a couple of therapists to see if they were interested. Most therapists know other so if you call one they can arrange it all. We got 3 fully trained therapists and paid £20 each for a 1 hour massage. They brought everything with them (tables, towels, music) and used nice oils. My massage was fantastic and actually better that most spa massages I have had.

If you get some drinks and snacks and get one massage each you are talking under £30 a guest all in.

If you go to Edinburgh I can pass you phone number of the one I had.

My eldest daughter recently went on a hen night to Magaluf. As the hen she drank free all night and the rest of the party got a jug of 'sex on the beach' and shots for free, and after that any drinks were two for one, she said that they struggled to drink all the free alcohol which was available to them!
    Very Class eh! :-)

Depends what you are after if you have a little skill and a printer you can buy transfers and cheap t-shirts in tesco (or other) and iron on. Also I think all the major printing places online and locally will do(e.g vistaprint).
  • I had an incredibly cheap stag do when I got married. I didn't bother. There's nothing I could plan to do on a stag do that I wouldn't already do if aI wanted to on any other occasion. And the fact for me was that I was getting married so was looking forward to the day. I fail to see the point of stag dos and generally don't bother attending if invited.

Oh I couldn't agree more. It's depressing to see how many folk still only manage to have a good time if they are pi**ed out their heads on as much alcohol as they can drink. And why this need to spend so much money?
We seem to have taken the US's idea of what a stag or hen party should be like - drink to excess, over sexualised clothing and behaviour (just look at leicester Sq every friday and saturday night) and general thuggishness - and made it even more unpleasant.

It's such a shame we have become like this but I don't see any end to it. But a big hurrah to those folk who have been more creative and decorated cupcakes or gone canoeing - brilliant ideas that I may use for my own do later this year.

My boyfriend went on a cheap stag do to The Mariner's Vaults in Ilfracombe, North Devon. He said it was brilliant! It was a part of a converted victorian hotel. There were 12 of them. It was 50m from the beach. It cost them £50 per person for 2 nights. He said there was a bar room with glasses and a pool table and fridges so you can bring your own booze etc and there was a big kitchen. They went on a boat trip and surfing at Woolacombe which is 10 mins away by car. When I asked him(for this forum) if he would go back, he said he definitely would. They are on facebook "mariners vaults". Sorry I cant post a link as am a new user.

Ive been looking into Liverpool for my boyfriend but can't seem to find any races in Lpool on Sat 31st July. They will be going Fri 30th to Sun 1st Aug. Does anyone have any good/unusual/cheap ideas on what they could do? My boyfriend had seen a deal on inside go karting, but just seeing what everyone elses ideas are?! x
