Anyone have anything good to say about DFS?

We bought 2 leather settees about 18 months ago. They weren't one of the mega offer ones (we watched them for 6 months before buying - never had any discount!!!). Look great now, even with 3 kids. I noticed a small scuff about a week after they were delivered, they came and repaired (we didn't take any insurance with them).
Delivery was on time. Salesman was ok (although I was very firm that we didn't need any insurance, PPI etc etc)
Wouldn't have touched some of their discount offerings with a bargepole though. You can easily see the difference in quality when you go further back in the shop. Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -

Thanks for the advice everyone - we're not using DFS finance, but I think we do have hollow fibre cushions, so will have to be wary of them - the guy on the phone did try and tell me we should turn them over once a day, which seemed a bit excessive to me, but I guess they're trying to combat the complaints they've obviously received!
They were in the 50% off offer however, so I suppose I should expect that they're only worth the sale price, not the supposed full price?0 -
I am 'impatiently'
waiting for my corner unit from DFS.
They said it would take 8 weeks and on Saturday just gone, it has been 6 weeks since we ordered, so a bit less than 2 weeks to go.
I am so hoping it will turn up on time (if not before) and will be worth the wait.0 -
I bought my DFS sofa over 2 years ago and it's fine. My sister has an identical one for 4 or 5 years and that's ok as well.
They have never been in the half price sale, 3 seater but more like 4. Has had a fair bit of being trampled all over by dog on a daily basis but still fine.
Salesman did try and persuade me to pay in full soon after delivery but I finally agreed to pay it off over 2 years including the 1 year free.
Also, few years back BIL sat on arm of his daughters new DFS sofa and it fell off!0 -
I got mine from DFS and they've survived 16/17 years of 2 growing kids and all that entails. Starting to lose the padding a bit now, but structurally they're sound and when they're cleaned they look great. I'd buy the same ones again.
Can't say what the current quality is though.0 -
Bought a three seater leather sofa about 10 years ago for use as an occaisional sofa. I don't remember any issues with delivery at all, we took them up on their kind offer of interest free credit and had no issues there either. And the sofa is still doing as well as our two other expensive (custom made) sofas and has moved home with us several times.

I've got 2 x 2 seaters and a chair and we've had them for 10 years now! I swear if we didn't have 6 cats they would look perfect! The leather cleans well but we can't hide the scratches the cats have created over the years and on the occasions the cats have been sick I've been so pleased we don't have fabric ones!!!
I would certainly think about using them again but a company can change over 10 years!DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

Hi
Has anyone here purchased the DFS Germaine Leather Sofa, if so have they lasted well. They say they are 100% leather, I can get them from another company for half the price.

Thanks for any advice you can offer

We bought a 3 seater & a 2 seater sofa bed in June 2008 (on credit). They still look good - the colour hasn't faded, the cushions flatten occassionally but this is solved by plumping them and turning them over for a bit. We did recently have a problem: The material at the front along the bottom started to come away (leaving very long staples poking out where little feet tread) and the material beneath the cushions started to tear at the seams.
I emailed dfs (contactus@dfs.co.uk) and within a week somebody came to inspect the sofa. A week later they sent someone to repair! The sofa looks like new. I am very happy with the service we have received.0 -
I was told that DFS stood for "dodgy f_____g sofas" but gave them a chance when we moved into our new house. We spent 3 months looking around any shop which sells sofas, and I think we both agreed that the worst sofas were at DFS. They sagged, they looked cheap, they were rock hard, too soft, not right at all. There were several sofa stores where we sat on a sofa to test, and hit the wooden frame at the bottom...
Needless to say we went somewhere else, so far we're not complaining, but we only got the sofas in April so only time will tell. But, we didn't pay through the nose for the 3 seater + 2 single armchair sofas, so don't mind if they start struggling. The less you pay, the less you worry about damaging them, accidentally or otherwise - which is invaluable with kids or pets or both...!Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0
