Underarm hair removal, I hate the shadow of shaving!

how long does it take to do a leg - shaving is obviously quick so I just wondered whether if I got an epilator will I be having to stop comping for an evening to do my legs LOL
The first time I epilated my legs it took ages. I had to have lots of breaks, it was probably a whole afternoon on and off before both legs looked good
. Since then I've been doing it every other night to get the stragglers and I literally just whip it over my legs in a minute, a few nips here and there but fine. I'm guessing the more you do it the quicker it will be, and obviously less painful. 0 -
perhaps due to being in my 30s  I have a horrid shadow
so i take it you dont mean 8 o/c shadow? more that the skin has discoloured?
if the latter, then you could try bleaching the skin, or using a scrub regularly, to remove the dead skin
however, dark skin in armpits can be caused by shaving, a skin infection, being overweight, sweating alot, using chemical deodorants and tight fitting clothing - so if the pain route (waxing/epil) isnt for you, maybe try using a hair removal cream, a natural deodorant and wear loose fitting, cotton clothing

I always get my legs / bikini waxed now, I will never go back to shaving, go a underarm wax once and it just wasn't worth it IMO, took ages to grow the hairs long enough and always having to remember to wear a top that wouldn't show my underarms was a nightmare, then when I got them done - it did sting - they only lasted about 5 days, I was so disapointed and thought not worth it.
But defo worth getting legs done, the change in my hair growth has been amazing.0 -
My armpits used to hurt a lot at first, i used to have to keep stopping but it does get easier and now i don't feel it because they are so fine, my armpits were always 5 o'clock shadow area's. But when i let them grow now its dead wispy :T
Epilating does take patience and time to get used to, but its worth it in the end and its all so easy and mess free and works on the smallest of hairs and free..well after you've shelled out for the epilator.0 -
Glad I'm not the only one!!!!!

re the shadow questions, I just mean that once I have shaved, if I raise my arms it just has a slight shadow to it I suppose, not like the celebs on photos
(i know.........) that don't appear to have ever had any hair there at all!!!!!!! Looks like a babys underarm, thats wot I want.
Now I dont know what to do lol!!!0 -

I tweezer mine - pain in the bottom
Say what now??? :rotfl:
I do a combination. I have horrible lower leg hair due to PCOS but the underarm hair is never a problem. Let it grow a little bit then wax (the MSE way with wax strips from the Poundshop). It's only one sharp pain for each underarm. Then epilate the rest away. It won't be enough to bleed and it'll last at least 10 days. Then you can decide whether to epilate the thinner hair or wait until the rare ones that have come through are a bit longer and wax again."Life is like a game of cards.
