You can't respond to what isn't asked. Since few (if any?) online applications contain a field to the effect of "any other information or clarification you feel may be useful to underwriters", you just tick off the closest you can get to the choices available. The fact that a FT/PT option isn't offered certainly must imply that that particular bit of info doesn't figure in the insurer's underwriting model. You certainly can't be accused of deception if the opportunity to deceive doesn't present itself in the first place!

And nothing the industry tries do to us surprises me any more!

It is offered by diamond, though they refer to it as "main" and "secondary" occupation.

But I am NOT unemployed. I found an option of "graduate seeking employment" but nor do I technically come under this because not only am I already employed, I have a contract of employment

I wouldn't interpret it that way, myself. How can you have only a secondary occupation without having a primary one to be secondary to?

I have just sent diamond an email- thought this may be a good way since then I will have 'proof' of what I was told to do by their staff.

What are you trying to achieve?

You started this thread asking about correctly declaring your job as being only p/t.

You wrongly said there was no way of doing this on the diamond site. Now you have been shown how to do it! Then you wrongly say they won't allow you to put in unemployed as your main job and then put in your p/t job!

They ask about your main and secondary occupations - so the only way you can put in your job as part time is as advised!

sorry quentin- I will just try what you say (unemployed and then part time carer) and get back to you!

Quentin- I must appologise. I just tried what you said (i.e putting unemployed as main and carer as secondary) and that did work.

It put my premium up by 10% but if that means my policy is deinately valid I dont mind! Does anyone know whether you can get a 'refund' when I declare my main occupation as a teacher in August- since the policy price would be less.
