It doesn't matter who you are or why you are here - everyone is treated the same and welcomed without question. When one of us has a problem or needs help, the flyladies come to the rescue, sometimes on elephants but i think the less said about that the better:rotfl:Like smurfs, there is a flylady for every occassion;)
I'm proud to be part of flylady and boo hiss to all the doubters:A
Put perfectly G&B
Then I'm "helping" organise this summer fair thing. Though it seems I'm having to do the organising as no-one else seems to be taking the lead. (Rach will understand and know from past experience that, when there's a group organising something and no-one takes the lead, muggins here steps in and does it...).Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »I'm back from my jolly up to Milton Keynes. Had a tutorial soo tedious I could feel myself aging as I sat there. I am sure the tutor was a very competent violinist 70 years ago, but you can't give a tutorial on computer analysis of sound with a laptop you can never get working, where you don't explain anything and click through the bits we want to see saying 'no time for that now' and going onto stuff we are perfectly capable of reading on the assessment instructions!Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »But the next session was BRILLIANT. A top notch recording studio, a very sweet French guy in charge and nobody volunteered to operate the mixing console.
So I did it for the whole session. 5 channels, following a script, sound effects, setting the levels myself - spotting a mic problem by ear rather than visually (where it had slipped), counting people in, the lot. I loved it.
I have no idea whether they were just being nice (probably), but a couple of people who have studio experience told me within seconds of sitting down, I looked and sounded just like an engineer.
I wish I could do it all again!
(OK own up - you dared the rest to even try and get near the mixing desk)0 -
Car booting done, it rained 3 times on us in Milton Keynes!! going to give my self next weekend off.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0

Kaz - I hope you made some money as well as getting wet.
Back garden looking great, just need a rest now with cake, tea and to rest my leg a bit so I'll do some bits on here.
Crafty - can we help to sort your out?
Valli - way to go girl. When is your next river clearing thing? You could invite him along. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Grrrrr, I find it quite annoying when some people go on and on about some things.....
DD in and having Tea, OH gone out and there is absolutely nothing on the tv. I really should S+S the kitchen but it can wait....I like my 3 min spurts during the ad's of a programme I like.......0 -
I finally got going, just when I thought I may need a mule or two. Since then I spent 15 minutes on urgent jobs in the kitchen, sorted food x3, cleared a LR hotspot for 5 minutes, cleared and hoovered stairs and space at bottom of stairs, sorted leaflets for DS1's papers on Tuesday and hoovered most of the LR. Oh, I made a start sorting the laundry and had a laugh with the kids. DS1 has 5 exams left to do - 4 this week and 1 the week after - and his mood seems a lot lighter a the moment.
I need to put the next lot of laundry on, put towels away, make cuppas and do some work with DS2. Then it's bathtime for him and I'll make a start on tea. Got to work tonight (write reports, organise portfolios and send some e-mails), so I'm trying to pace myself. I can't afford to put any of those jobs off until the morning.
I'm seriously considering going for a TEFL qualification (teaching English as a foreign language), because the MA course I was looking at didn't work out. I really don't know where I'll find the time (or the money), but I'd love to get into something new.
Ok, best be off again. Hope everyone's having a good Sunday. x0 -
Afternoon all
Not done all that much today. One load of washing done and put away. Roast dinner done, eaten and cleared away. DH and I were up most of the night coughing so I've bought more cough medicine today, the sort that is supposed to loosen it up. I hope it works.
Hope everyone's OK.0 -
