Hi Spoon, thanks for asking after MIL things are a touch brighter tonight,
Good News about MIL, she is now just on a glucose drip, and has had 2 bowls of build up soup (320 KCals per serving) today. Two early to call yet but things are a little brighter, now if only I can get a can of Murphy's  smuggled into her (favorite tipple - especially when someone else is buying).:rotfl::rotfl:

More good news, I had a call at tea time from the estate agents who are dealing with the sale of my Mums house. Accepted offer only 1K below asking price. If all goes through this time (last deal fell through due to solicitor being slow, and a drive way dad put in when I was 11!).
It means we an pay the home and her social loan.:j And that will leave enough to keep her for @ 2 years before I have to fight for full state funding. (less top up fee's currently £50 pw, which my sis and I will have to fund).

Mums house was meant to be our legacy, carp int'it when you have paid in all your life to have to fund your old age. I've not made any provision so it's a cardboard box in the bus station for me. Musn't grumble the way things are going I may have a few ex MP's and the Hooray's for company:eek::eek::eek:

Now that is a frightening thought. How do I get to Beachy Head, anyone tell me.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

HANDY SHUT UP, WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE BL@@@Y WALTONS.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Handy, have you asked on the boards for advice on the care home fees? There was a thread on it the other day and it's complicated, but if she's going straight from hospital to a care home and needs nursing care then the cost goes down, or something, not really my area but worth checking out.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Hi Ames, my mum went into care last September. It was awkward for my sis had just moved to Lincolnshire, S Yorks were happy to get her off there books. She actually came under Nottinghamshire for the first home.
Before Xmas she got a social worker and he got her out and into a Hospital Nr Mansfield within 24hrs as she was being mistreated. An Issue I still have to address. We got her into our first choice home in Feb this year. It took an age to get each of the county Social services to agree who would fund what.

I'm pretty much up to speed on how it works, but last night I offered advice to a chap who was billed by a home 18 months after his mum passed away. A nice Lady Mum2two? I think it was who works in the Care Home industry posted. I asked and she said yes that I can contact her for advice when needed. She seems very switched on to it all as it is her job.

Its great here isnt it? all Human Knowledge in one place. If you don't know a thing, you can always find someone who does.

Warmest regards, if I cant get on Sunday I will look you up soonest chance I get in Leeds. Providing you don't mind a Fossil buying you a beer.

    Cheers, handy.

Ah, that's the thread I meant.

I know what you mean about this site, it's got everything.

I hope you do make it on Sunday, if not I'm sure there'll be another chance for a beer sometime. Maybe the monkery doors will be left open so Numpty can sneak out and join us too.

Have you met Numpty? sound chap.

When I went to meet him I felt like an internet Virgin:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Back in 1900 and frozen to death I was a Webby pioneer. But after a few years away things move on so fast!

I told him he would know it was me cos I would be wearing a green waistcoat, (we wear silly things like that in the sticks). I am sure if we get a meet fixed up Numpty will be there. Niddy told me he was a Jock, what he meant was he supp's like one!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Numpty mate only kidding, you're one of the best.:A

    Cheers, handy.

Hi Ames, Handy is turning in now, will talk again tomorrow if OK with you.
Glass of JD is now empty and Eyes are going the same way.

I found this site last December, Lurked until March, since then I've not had this much fun in ages. Sometimes the post's bring you to tears, sometimes they make you see red and sometimes they make you glad you put on your Tenna's for men cos your laughing so much.

I just hope in some small way I can put back as much as I have received from MSE.

I have met some great people here, please include yourself in my list.

    Warmest regards, handy x
