Do you not have ventilation issues though now that the wretched regs are been made tighter and tighter for non-room sealed boilers?
I have a 4" (or so) vent into the kitchen from outside, presumably to provide enough combustion air (and for a gas cooker if I had one ?). The "exhaust" goes straight up from the heat exchanger to the main chimney in the house.
My "gas man" is happy with it.
Don't know the exact rules and regs - any qualified gas men out there ?0 -

AS the great Catherine Tate said
'Am I bovered'

Lets get back to common sense.0 -
Hello, just out of interest - how old is your system?
It's really great to hear loads of people loving their air vent heating!!
I'm not going to be much help here. House was built in 1969 and the boiler/main hot air thingy has been replaced once, at least 20 years ago. It had it's annual service from BG of Thurs and passed with flying colours so fingers crossed it will take me through another winter.
The other reason I like it (sounds a bit naff) - I can hang my laundry over the bannisters in winter and the warm air from the vent opposite gets stuff dry within a couple of hours, saving tumble dryer costs !!!! I'm easily pleased :rotfl:0 -
I like it too !0

As we still seem to have some J&S readers here. Can I ask if any of you use the summer circulation facility?? Been in the house for a number of summers , but never switched it on.0

No.
Main reason being that the main "intake" for my system is in the ceiling on the upstairs landing. My house is warmer upstairs, in hot weather, than down. Therefore, I think I would just be blowing the hot air from upstairs to down.0 -
