PS: If you're lucky enough to have a baby who is also Rh neg then you don't have the one after birth.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
Ensure that if you are induced a female nurse with very slim fingers does it, not the Consultant who had fingers that were at least 3 inches wide *ouch*.
As others have said - epidurals don't always work. I ended up having half a leg numb - not good for giving birth pain free!
A catheter hurts a lot when it's put in, but you don't feel it at all when it's taken out.:hello:0 -
I am a bit squeamish so removed my glasses ( I am blind as a bat) at the beginning of labour and only put them back on when I was assured the baby was clean and all mess including placenta had been removed.
I still have the piles as a souvenir 40 odd years on though.0 -

Not so much now, but when I was teaching my son manners, when I paid for something in a shop, if the assistant didn't say please when asking for the money, I would say 'whats the magic word?'. I would also say 'TA' in a very loud voice....oh the shame when I think backOh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

Yes, you can donate your breastmilk to SCBUs by registering with the United Kingdom Association for Milk Banking. You have a blood test and then donate any surplus milk to your nearest registered milk bank, usually based in a hospital. The milk is pasteurised and then used to feed sick premature babies.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

I read the first few pages of this thread and have already put in my 2p-worth (piles!).
But has anyone mentioned the sudden and irreversible emotional-ness (is there such a word?).
Since having my first child 13 years ago, I cannot watch any sad news item about a child without welling up (couldn't even watch that poor nervous 16yr old boy on X-Factor yesterday without mumsy feelings of 'aw...bless him' bubbling up).
Watching ANY nativity play, dance show etc (even if my kids aren't in it) makes me cry now....and I never used to be like this!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
