In the usa apparently now Wal-Mart is now flogging the iPhone 3gs for 99$

Wait till the new iPhone launches here then such deals might be available here too. The iPhone is a good one especially if one gets it for 99$

Please note that the keyword is "apparently". I don't know if such a deal exists in Wal-Mart, I just found mention of it online today, so take it with a big pinch of salt.

I've got a 32 gb Ipod Touch that's 5 months old so I'm not sure I'd want an Iphone too. Seems a bit pointless. I don't like the text entering on the touch. There's no back or forwards key so if I make a mistake when typing I either have to double tap the screen to mover the cursor which is anything but exact or use backspace key to delete everything I'd typed to the point of error, which is a slight inconvienince for web browsing but would be a huge pain for texting, which I do a lot of.

Funny you mentioned this, as this also bugged me for quite some time about the text entry mechanism. Then one day when I tried to reposition on the cursor by tapping on the screen numerous times, I accidentally held my finger on too long and a magnifying glass popped up. This would then magnify the word and allow me to move left and right (whilst finger was still pressed) to reposition the cursor which was more accurate. But still annoying if you make a lot of mistakes whilst typing as it slows the whole input down.

Cheers for that, just tried it on the touch and it works. Still a bit of a faff compared to my forward and backward buttons on my 5800 but infinitely better than the double tap or deleting to the point you made the mistake.
