Hi Hope no one minds me posting this on here, but im currently knitting mice for my local cat rescue centre. They do a fantastic job of looking after and rehoming abandoned or unloved cats (and rabbits and guinea pigs!) and i rehomed my cat from there.

The link for the site and the pattern for the knitted mice can be found here...

If anyone wants to join me in knitting a mouse or two that'd be great!

I am sitting on a pile of plasterboard typing this and I hope you will forgive me if I send a very special gentle thought to one and all-- Oh I cant wait to resume normal service on the internet. I have read a few pages back and send a big hug to those with their hands overflowing!!!

May-- Lovely to see you xxx

Well a week of contrast here.

On the upside --- Whoooohoooo DD2 arrives home today. So the card is made I am just off to paint the banner and go to town to buy a packet of Percy Pigs and a few more treats. She arrives back in the village at about 10.00 tonight after a long 18 months away-- It has seemed forever but I am so proud of how she has managed. So of course a welcome reception will be ready including Buster!!!
Of course she is dying to meet William but a trip to North Devon will have to wait until next week!
So excitement abounds on that front.

The house seems like a mountain at the moment but I know this time will pass and I feel it is just that I ould like to be straight with DD arrivibg hgome but I am sure she will enjoy being a part of it once the jet lag has passed over!!

On the sad side DMIL was seen by the head honcho at the heart and lung unit at the beginning of the week and the long and short of it is that she has heart failure and sadly there is nothing which can be done except for medication. The doctor was incredibly kind but words like " a limited time" and " palliative care" come as a bit of a shock!! Still she is being very stoic and brave --- and knitting premmie hats!!! I am off into town in a minute to get new supplies of wool!!! What a star.

I really do send lots of love to everyone on here it is so lovely to hve "true " friends to share our lives and you lovely lot are the best

On a bright side here is the latest lappy

    Update

    1 cOMPLETED LAPPY
17 Angel pockets -- These were requested at the hospital where William was born and I have been quietly hooking them in spare moments. I will post a crochet pattern very soon that is easy and quick.

    Hi everyone

Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes about my Mum. She is doing well and is being really taken care of by my lovely sister, which is so reassuring. I know she's in the best of hands, and that there will be a proper care plan for her soon.

As for the house, I've just renewed all the adverts for it, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. We have lovely weather at the moment and I think that always brings out the househunters!

Chalky - I am so sorry to hear the news about your MIL and that there's nothing that can be done. Please give her a hug from me. I know just how precious these ladies are. She must be so glad to have such a lovely family. I hope DD2 lands safely; what a lot of catching up there will be, and I can just imagine her smile when she meets William for the first time!

Shaz - thinking of you at this sad time.

Kinsey - thank you for that link to all those patterns you posted! They look lovely!

Jean - hope you aren't doing too much.

Loulou - thanks for the link to that wonderful charity and the knitting pattern!

Take a look at this that I found this morning - it's amazing, and shows such talent and commitment! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2111518/A-yarn-Olympic-proportions--Mystery-knitter-attaches-50-yard-long-scarf-featuring-woollen-athletes-pier.html

Well, I've been busy online writing today, and still have some to finish off this afternoon, so I still haven't done the update. I will really get it done tomorrow.

Hope the sun is shining for you all.

Chalky so sorry to hear the news about your mother-in law. She sounds like a very special lady, and she's still knitting, that's wonderful. Big hugs to you all. It must be more difficult as you must be bursting with excitement waiting for DD to actually arrive, but please don't burst all over the lovely new house. The lappy is as lovely as all the others, of course.

mioliere, my goodness somebody is dedicated, all that knitting! Pity they're anonymous, you could recruit her/him.

mrs-mp a crown isn't so bad (it's just the thought of dentists).

    ISOM hope all is well.

    Love to all. xxx

socky hope today was a celebration of your friends life and that you got through it ok. Big hugs for youxxx
Roaming hope you have returned from your expedition not too exhausted? Bet it was good to get out for a bit! Not too much roaming though!
chalky so sad to hear about dmil...will take all of you time to absorb but at least doctor sounded empathetic and more sensitive than some. Good for her continuing to knit!! Thinking if you all as you adjust to the news. On the happier front hope the reunion is as happy as it sounds! Sure she will enjoy getting stuck in with the house!
Hope others are ok with not too much distressing business.
Well I am, at last home! Have concluded I am not a good hospital patient. SO much noise that I virtually begged him to let me go home! He was a bit iffy but I assured him that I would get much more rest at home! Came home (all weak and pathetic!!) and snoozed; had consome for lunch and just had 1/2 a protein shake which was yummy! Good to get some nutrition in after so much water.
The eve will be chilling but hope to get back to some hookey tomorrow!
    hugs allxxx
