I know but if I wanted him to stay in kennels, he'd need it. That's why i'd get it then.
Out of interest, how much does the kennel cough jab cost roughly?
I couldn't tell you sorry, I have it done with the puppy jabs (I think the full set cost me about £30 odd including microchip) and whenever I have the booster.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

I applaud anyone who takes on rescue cats.
And I genuinely hope one of the rescue cats doesn't bring a disease into your home that your cats may catch.Sigless0 -
You don't just catch kennel cough in kennels
Your dog could get it from a dog on the street.
I didn't know that, the vet has never mentioned kennel cough vaccination to me. One of my boys loves other dogs, wants to play with every dog he sees, god forbid he picked it up whilst socialising.Sigless0 -

If you EVER see a dog coughing please don't let your dog anywhere near it. Kennel cough can be fatal if not caughtWife and mother :jGrocery budget

One of my boys got kennel cough three years ago and was very poorly with it. He has never been near a kennel. His eyes were full of green gunk, same coming out of his nose, he was having trouble breathing. It took about 3 weeks of anti biotics to get him over the worse.0

Yeah I vaccinate my dog and worm him regularly. Have never used a flea treatment though. He has never had fleas. If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0

I've got 4 house cats and whilst they had their initial vaccinations I've not had them done since. 2 of them get so stressed going to the vets they pull their fur out for weeks afterwards so that was one of the reasons i didn't get them done again.
They're insured and I just accept that if they catch something thats not covered I will have to pay for the treatment.
I can understand people living in urban areas with outdoor cats having them done though and in those circumstances I would too.
My mum has had cats for 35 years in a very rural area and never had any vaccinated beyond their initial ones and so far hasn't had any problems - touch wood! One of her cats lived to 26 before he had to be PTS.
Worming I do now and again, I don't really think I need to but just in case - probably once a year.
Flea treatment I'm more regular with and Frontline all of them every 4-5 months after a bad infestation a couple of summers ago - I never want to see a flea again and check them all regularly.0 -
We worm and frontline every couple of months ,we need to as we go hiking .
Our youngster gets a booster every year but our old girl has never had a booster ,only her puppy vaccines .we were once told by a reputable source that the booster are not guaranteed and that they are not worth having and when they fail ,its just passed off as 'an unfortunate event ' BUT as we have the youngster insured ,we have him 'boostered ' every year to keep his insurance valid .0 -
Btw there are many different naso-tracheal infections all labelled 'kennel cough' so don't assume your animal is covered as last time I checked only 2 variations were covered by vaccinations (one by normal one and one by the extra nasal vaccine). By the same token, not vaccinating with the extra vaccine isn't make or break since there are other versions of the disease out there anyway...Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0

All mine are fully vaccinated, booster every year. Flea'd every 5 weeks (one of them has flea allergy dermatitis and it's soo sad when he gets covered in scabs) and worming is every 6 months. They're also all insured.
I do wonder about vaccinations now, particulary as we have cat fencing around the garden so they "shouldn't" come into contact with anything...Owned by [STRIKE]4[/STRIKE] 4 cats: 2 x Maine coon cross males, 1 x Pixie Bob male and[STRIKE] 2[/STRIKE] 1 x Norwegian Forest male....cute!
