This is absolutely terrible. Admiral are closed. I'm worried about whether I will have any liability?
I took pictures on my phone. No witnesses i'm afraid.
exactly this happened to me 2 weeks ago my car was written off, i had a cheque 1 week later and another week i have a new car . my solicitor is claiming my £550 excess back off the other insurer0 -
Well I started the claim today, and was passed to Albany Assistance. I'm a little concerned after doing a search, and wonder whether I should call up Admiral and tell them to handle the claim under my own policy and seek to recover my excess from third party. I had no idea I had a choice and assumed this was the only choice available to me.0

It would be best to avoid Albany as they are worse than useless, you can either claim off Admiral or give the other Insurer a call, if their client has reported it and they accept liability they will probably be happy to arrange repairs and a replacement vehicle0

im not so sure as surely the OP should have been equally able to stop in time when the car in front braked at a mini roundabout? they could argue that the OP should have been aniticipating the stop approaching the roundabout rather than following the car in front0 -
and the car behind them should have been doing the same.....and keeping their distance , but failed on both countsEx forum ambassador

? The OP says he did stop, but the car behind couldn't.

check your policy pack as admiral lines are open 24hrs. as stated in a previous post.
it isnt the op's fault even if the driver infront of her had to slam brakes on to give way OP stopped in time! The driver behind didnt give him self enough gap and or paying enough attention, as we all know it's our responsorbility as a safe driver to pay attention of traffic and stopping distances.
there is no getting out of this one the driver who hit the REAR of the OP is at fault, even if the op was pushed into the car infront then both the driver infront of OP and OP will claim off the driver who hit the OP (sounds really confusing but straight forward).
EDIT: for some reason masterlumps quote will not appear mm must check my internet browser settings.0 -

I had a non fault crash last June. I was insured with Admiral and they passed it through to Albany Assistance. They were superb for me. They got things sorted very, very quickly! I crashed at 8.30 that morning, and by lunch time I had a brand new hire car with about 80 miles on the clock. Each time I had a question they answered it immediately and were always more than happy to help.
I'm not saying they're the best company 100% of the time, but I didn't have any grumbles with them at all. I would happily deal with them again.
Hope the claim goes through smoothly for you OP.This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
I have to say, reading about Albany Assistance had me very very concerned... anyway, today, Albany Assistance handed it back to Admiral as they have been unable to obtain complete third party details. Admiral advised me it is not a problem, as the other car is insured, and have already arranged my bodyshop repair and replacement car.
They have, quite amazingly, also waived my £650 excess. Now thats what i call customer service!
I actually called the other insurer involved yesterday to check they have been made aware of the accident - their insured hadn't even told them despite the fact 2 days had passed.0
