Making bread is really good for getting hands clean. :rotfl:

I do think it's OTT but I do worry about touching the pump dispenser when I've got raw meat juice all over my hands for example, it's more that I don't want to put germs on the pump though and not the other way around.

You could try using the side/heel of your hand instead. Also helps if you have been making pastry!

I had one from simplyhuman, a present. I could not wait to get rid of it, because it used so much soap, even on the lowest setting loads! Also it would go off if you were cleaning the sink, moving it to clean the sink, moving it to refill it, breath near it!

I use very little, partly because I have sensitive skin, and we ended up using twice as much soap as without the pump! And in this case it's THEIR soap you'll be wasting and buying all the time, very clever!

It just seemed like a gimmik to me, I didn't even think about it being extra specially safe as you didn't have to touch it! Did make me laugh though when I saw Tesco had it on special offer and £6.66 (Devil's number!) some sort of message me thinks?

I usually call for my o/h or one of the girls if i,m not alone at times like this, ask them to turn on tap, and pump the soap, not very usefull when i,m alone lol,
  • Meh - if the level of cleanliness in my mother's house was the cause of my autoimmune disease, then that proves we'd have to be living on a Mumbai rubbish tip to be in danger of catching anything. That place was and still is foul!

Makes my place look like a little shrine to the clean fairies in comparison.

Bet Dettol wouldn't like it though.

 why do they advertise this on kid's tv, I've just had to explain to my dd that no, we don't need one of these, even if we do get germs on our hands the soap and water will wash them off. She has a good excuse though, she's 4.
I can see that it could be helpful for people with disabilities or in a professional settings eg working kitchens or perhaps garages. but I'm don't think it's a good idea for the home.
    Booo!!!
  • I am SO glad I'm not the only person outraged by this ridiculous ad! The daftest thing is the last bit where the loving mother kisses her boy's hand, just after he's disinfected it with the handwash!!!! So now, technically, he'll need to go and waft his hand under the supersonic handwash dispenser, and go through the whole palaver again! Someone else mentioned the Vanish ad ("don't worry!") - how on earth have I got to 44, when my sheets and duvet cover must be absolutely heaving with bacteria? I do like it, though, when they emphasise their point about the product killing 99.9% of bacteria, by leaving just one little microbe sitting on the sheet. Totally laughable.
  • Don't get my mum started! She is fed up with all the anti bacterial ads on the tv!

Anyway, it doesn't matter what we wash our hands with, if someone comes along afterwards and doesn't wash their hands (we have all seen it happen in public loos), then it is a waste of time because the dirty bu**ers who never wash their hands have put their mucky unwashed paws on the door handle etc.

Anyway who wants to be too 'clean' - that makes you more succecptible (spelling??) to germs.
