My question was surely there will be germs lurking on the taps too, so after washing with the superduper soap thingy you still have to turn said taps off

I work in a school kitchen - and the instructions say that when washing our hands in the kitchen we are supposed to turn the tap off using a paper towel!

TBH that makes more sense, although still instills the fact that we shouldn't be touching anything. So until we all turn into Snow White and get the woodland animals to do all the housework.... oh hang on, that means animals on the work surfaces.....

arrghh - whats wrong with a few germs! even scientists agree we are becoming so obsessed with cleanliness its affecting our immune systems.
dont get me wrong - I am NOT advocating living like somewhere kim and aggie would have to come and clean! but we do NOT need to live in a sterile atmosphere! a balance between 'normal' dirt and filth is desirable to build up our immune systems. (and the people who live in these filthy homes are rarely ill - its the visitors from 'clean' homes who are at risk).

Let alone pronounce it the correct way :rotfl:

That's nothing I heard that when using inner tubes from loo roll for craft with kids they should be sanitised first because you know they've been in the toilet with all those nasty germs :rotfl: So what about the soap that sits in there to wash the hands......is that now "dirty" because it's sat in there too. What about my toothbrush  OMG just think what's lurking on that because it's in the bathroom :rotfl:

My twelve year old, who is normally devoid of logic, asked what purpose this served as any germs you picked up when touching the top of an ordinary dispenser would be washed off anyway when you washed your hands.

It gave me reason to believe there is indeed hope for her! I do agree with others about the possibilities for the disabled but it's not marketed as such.

My 11 yr old asked the same question, and then went on to add that the tap would have germs on it anyway as you turn it on when your hands are dirty before using the soap.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.

OMG, there's no hope for me - just let me nip out and scrub the chickens, polish the rabbits and guinea pigs before I sterilise the cats bum. Don't think any of them will be impressed but I will sleep better!
And what about my veg growing in all that dirty soil?

Seriously I can see the market for disabled people, excellent in certain circumstances, would be good in hospital but they couldn't afford it. We did let out a roar of outrage when the ad came on. I think children need a bit of muck to grow and be healthy, my 2 were rarely sick and are both sturdy adults so I think I did ok.

I just think its a way for these companies to make even more money out of people, what is wrong with good old soap and water, when we were kids we played in all sorts, making mud pies etc, apart from my sister who wouldnt get her hands dirty, nothings changed
