Why not just wait until the belt actually goes (or the head gasket for that matter)? If you're only going to scrap it it won't really affect the scrap value. As long as you can live with the possibility of it just breaking one day in a year's time...

Well that will be a 1st, a Rover that only "breaks" once a year, :o:o:o
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
  • One more thing. I was going to get the car serviced at the same time as the MOT, but with the unexpected repair costs I've put it on hold. Is it still worth doing? There's a cheaper garage I know and have used before who will charge £90 ish I guess. Not had it serviced for a year so it will need an oil change if nothing else.

Will probably do that. I'm a bit worried about the corrosion underneath the car, but it should last another year. Not sure about the problems with the bushes though.

Only time it broke was when I left the boot ajar and the car battery went flat. :)

Ah the old "does the light in the freezer actually go out?" syndrome.
