MOT anger

Yesterday I paid a garage £310 to get my car through it's MOT. When they phoned me they told me what it had failed on but nothing else. Stumped up the cash and thought no more about it until picking up the car and the paperwork, when I saw an Advisory Notice with 10 items.
I'm really angry about it because the car (Rover 216) is 15 years old and not worth much more than £300 anyway, and if I'd known about the other things I would have scrapped it. Is it worth complaining to VOSA?
Most of the things sound serious (e.g. corrosion to all suspension components, corrosion to front drive shaft, all suspension rubber bushes deteriorated) and realistically there's no way I can get them fixed at a reaonsable price.

For a 15yr old Rover 216, that is considered Mint Condition.
The bloke told you it would cost £310 to get it through the MOT and have a years ticket, you have now paid £310 and have an MOT'd car for 12 Months.
I can't see why you're complaining, it could have cost much more..... and it is a Rover.0 -
If its got 12 months mot sell it ! £500 easy.0

That puts it into perspective! Thanks guys.
I was planning to scrap it next year anyway as the cambelt will need replacing, so I'll hang fire.0 -

Just drive it until something goes wrong. £310 for potentionally another year of use is cheap.Happy chappy0

This is a Rover, it could last only a few miles.:D0 -

spend a fiver on a can of schutz or waxoyl and the corrosion shouldn't be a problem for the year anyway.0

Not sure, I don't have one.;)
At least Kia are still in business.0
