well as i see it, This is a moneysaving site and its the first place i would look to save money as so would many many others.
If it wasn't for Claire posting about the photographer she found then a few of us wouldn't have had a photographer at all. (Thank you Claire)
Brian also photographed our wedding and i cant praise him enough. Our pre-wedding photos was brilliant. By having a pre wedding shoot helped us feel more relaxed on the day when the camera was on us. Also knowing how to stand, where to look, where to put your hands etc etc.
Before the wedding Brian also spent time checking out the register office and surrounding area looking for nice scenery etc etc. Brian is very imaginative behind the camera and done some great shots.
On the wedding day, Brian spent almost the whole day with us.
Our guests kept asking where he is from? Not only that, he also done some personal family shots for my sister and her family and others too. I couldn't have wished for any better :-)
Brain has kept us informed on the process of every detail, from the minute we booked him to the stage we are at now. A few more days to the wedding photos are ready.
I say "good on him" for starting out a new career and i know he will go very very far.

everything to do with money is business, everything to do with business has a market, people will go with the market they can afford
if that means buying theyr toothpaste from poundland cos they dont want to pay the full price in boots does that make it wrong too?
you need to get over it and realise that its a big bad world out there which does not come with money bags of cash at birth(unless your spoilt of course-oh how i wish lol)I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -

I do appreciate that not everyone has the budget to afford a professional photographer and I am always willing to help people with advice on how to get professional photos at a reduced rate.
But we've seen many threads of Brides getting someone to do their photos who work without experience, contracts, back up kit or even basic customer service skills. Some have been ripped off, have no recourse due to the absence of a contract or the 'phootgrapher' is demanding more money after the wedding to release their images. This makes me very sad and angry .
This is a quite often laboured point but there are so many people out there who buy a decent camera then call themselves 'a photographer'. They generally are unskilled and advertise on gumtree or ebay and quite often steal other (professional) photographers photographs for their portfolio...fooling the couples with what they can actually produce! When things so wrong, they get bored or have other priorites they disapear....with your cash.
Being MSE doesn't mean getting some cowboy to cover your wedding for £50 giving you images any guest could produce. To me being MSE is finding a skillful professional that will give you a fair price. So I think it's fine trying to negotiate a discount for a weekday wedding or maybe one out of peak wedding season. Maybe you could ask them to come along for a few hours instead of all day or ask for a photobook instead of an expensive album. Another idea is to ask a professional if they have an assistant or 2nd shooter who can cover your wedding ay a reduced price for experience.
Sorry but I dont think I will ever 'get over' couples getting ripped off by these people and spoiling what should be the happiest day of your lives! It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0 -
thanks for clarifying, again, karen! sorry i didnt see you meaning that in your other post!I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0

Here is a website that many of you won't have seen before. wwwphotographerscouk ( sorry for not adding the full stops where they are supposed to be, but I wasn't allowed to add a message with a link - but I'm sure you get the idea) go to the situations vacant section.
While a lot of companies use this to fill their vacancies, increasingly you will find people advertising for a photographer to do their wedding. This way rather than you doing the chasing they will e-mail or contact you. Don't be afraid to to say that someone can use it ideally to build up their portfolio and get a cheap price. Depending upon where you live, expect alot of replies!!!
You will probably have to register first.
Hope this helps.
Legally blonde have pm'd you0
