Good luck to you, and thanks for all the info.

Hopefully once you have done this wedding, others will follow and you can start increasing prices to actually make some money.

But he says he has been doing it for 10 years surely he must have a portfolio by now?

Just seen Brian's response that he has been an amateur photographer for 10 years and is branching out into wedding photography.

Don't understand why you posted that.

My post was made before Brian's response(which in turn I responded to) and I think we have all read now.

OMG! I didn't realise this thread had caused such a stir until I met Brian 90 minutes ago and he told me that he had found this thread!

I'm glad the records been set straight. Brian bought lots of pictures with him, which we both thought were fab, explained everything that will happen on the day (and beforehand!) and I have to say that both myself and H2B are more than happy with everything. We've arranged a date for a pre-wedding shoot, to allow us all to get used to each other and being in front of the camera! Just in case anyone is wondering, we didn't get the hard sell where prints are concerned, in fact quite the opposite, he said he would be happy to do them if that's what we both wanted but that it was our decision entirely.

Overall we're 150% happy with everything we've seen/heard so far and I'll gladly keep you updated! (I'll even upload some of our pics when we get them!)

Just wanted to add one more thing, that it was probably my fault that people were a little sceptical as I hadn't stated that he was building a portfolio, which is as you've seen stated on the ebay listing, so can see why some people may have got the wrong impression :)

Good luck to Claire and I really hope you get some lovely pictures from Brian :)

I do wedding photographym and what I am going to say is NOT aimed at Brian as he has been upfront with his ability and Claire is obviously happy with him.
Someone mentioned the SWPP, sadly you can become a member without ever having picked up or owned a camera so thats not a good reccomendation - try joining yourself and you will find if you pay the fee they will let you in!!

If anyone is booking a cheaper photographer please make sure they have insurance, PL is a must and PI will give you a bit of comfort if the photographer does turn out to produce pictures that are no good.

I hope it all goes well for you both and that Claire has a great day :)
