Help mums 50th and stuck for an experience gift?

My mums 50th birthday soon and i'm looking to get/do something a little more special than usual.
The problem is she's not really 'into' much i've had a browse at the experience days but the best i can come up with is dinner for 2 (mum&step dad)

I've got a top budget of around £100

She's one of these mums that says 'i don't want a fuss' when really she does and she's been dropping hints 'it's my 50th soon' etc :rotfl:

Anyway what do you get for someone essp your own mum when they aren't really into anything much.
She likes dogs, take that and boyzone but that doesn't give me much to go on!
She's too chicken to do any of the thrill things and not into pampering i'm really stuck please help me :)

For my mums 50th I took her for a day out shopping. Bought her a load of new clothes, nice lunch and persuaded her to get her ears pierced! She had a great time.... especially because it was quality time with her daughter.

How about a weekend away for the two of you? (It can be as cheap or as expensive as you want).

I'm currently in York with my mum (birthday pressie) - somewhere neither of us have been before - although very expensive - if you could find somewhere that's nice but inexpensive that would make a memorable birthday!

They are fab ideas but my dd is still tiny and i'm b'feeding her so going away even for the day isn't really an option right now.

The photo shoot could be a good one but i know my mum would want my brother there and he's moved miles away so getting him down for a certain day for a photo shoot would be difficult as he doesn't drive.

grr why can't things be simple lol
i seem to have too many hoops to jump though.

I have paid for my mum to have a makeover before and she really enjoyed that. I also got her one of those London Eye and meal packages and she still talks about it five years later!

I recently thought about a photoshoot for my mum and dads anniversary but it wasnt practical. So I got all the old photos from when their wedding up until today, and then scanned them in to the computer.

I then made a photobook showing the 40 years of their marriage :)
