When I read the first line I understood why you wanted to change the car...but then you want ANOTHER Ford again?!?
The Fiesta is a top selling car, the Focus is a best seller car, the Ford Mondeo is better than a BMW 3 series...
Whats wrong with Ford, other than it not having a "my car is better than your car" badge?0 -

I'd rather sit in a Mondeo for comfort over a 3 Series.0

Ah - Another Ford "pundit".
The Ka is a great car (NOT the new one !) - even Clarkson called it "The Happy Pill" !Whats wrong with Ford, other than it not having a "my car is better than your car" badge?
Funny you should say that! My daughter has just had the badge nicked off her Ka and has seen several others missing theirs too.
Perhaps people are sticking them on their BMWs.0 -
I'm about to trade up my 12 year old Ka3. I'll be really, really, really sorry to see it go."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Ford are a car for the middle and lower class masses. They're perfectly serviceable cars, but I personally wouldn't have one because I know that there is a fair chance that in 10 years time they won't be on the road.
Given how many Sierra's and Escorts Ford sold - must be hundreds of thousands, when was the last time you saw one? Or Scorpio/Granada/Probes? Sadly Ford bought Volvo - but by comparison, I still see Volvo V70's old old shape and 740's regularly, plus there are numerous old V40's and S40's still kicking around. I'm sure the new Ford's are great, but I just wouldn't buy a 5yr old one hoping to run it for too long.0 -
Well i wont be selling it anytime soon, as someone has just crashed into the back of the car in question.0

'What car' tells me that the private value is £5,350 ... or part exchange is £5,070 ... which is quite a drop really from £5,800
Should I private sale and take the hit, or see if a main ford dealer might give me more for it.
The original price of £5800 includes the dealer's profit so dropping 5/800 quid really isn't that much. Secondly, what car? valuations are not worth a bean as the trade uses CAP or Glass' guide so you won't get £5800 for it in a month of Sundays and may struggle getting even 5k.
Try some Ford dealers but don't hold your breath but you may get lucky if they have some good deals on new Fiestas.
If you go the private route be prepared for buyers to be suspicious of you selling after only two months - looks like there's something wrong with the car !Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
