I keep looking for over 50s savings too. There don't seem to be many. (Thanks EdinCapitals, wonder if there's an English equivalent?)Fortunately I'm hurtling towards 60 now so I'll look forward to asking for concessions everywhere I go!

Shouldn't this be renamed "over-60s checklist" as a. most items in the list apply to over-60s and b. I don't like it being implied that I'm old at 51 :-)

    xxxxxxx

Well I don't like it being implied that I'm old at 62 :rotfl:

I am hurtling towards my 55th birthday in July and have decided it will be my last one lol! Generally it seems most savings are aimed at over 60's but am wondering if age discounts will eventually raise in accordance with new retirement ages?
    Growing old disgracefully!

I got quite excited when I reached 50 as I imagined there would be some sort of discounts etc.
    But ...zilch, nada, zip.
    Bother.

Another year and I'll be 55. The only thing that has happened is my retirement pension won't be payable for at least another year. Woot ..NOT.

I suggest MSE alters the title to "Preparation for Retirement checklist" .

You should challenge the 80 year old who finished in front of me in the Dorking 10 mile road race (I'm 54, was 52 at the time). He ran the race in 1 hour 40 mins (the route does have some minor hills, it's not flat), good luck with your training.

I checked out his stats and he can run a half marathon in 90 mins.
