Buy As You View- Most Unprofessional Company

I've been with Buy As you View for over a year, I got a TV on hire purchase, they were very keen for my custom and I ask accepted, BIGGEST mistake of my life! I didn't want the hidden extras, just the TV as I have home insurance which would cover any loss, theft or damage and with any new product manufacturer warrenty should be as standard.
I literally signed my life away, no end of problems with customer service, agents stealing money so I sent a letter of complaint to there H.O, meanwhile I sent the coinmeter back to there H.O recorded delivery, as it's there property, I heard stories on other forums saying they get you arrested for theft so I quickly sent them there property. sooo... while this was in dispute i advised no agents were to come to my property, that all correspondence was to be done through whitemail, I received a letter from the Complaints manager stating they have appointed a Regional Manager to take on my case called Peter. BAYV claim I have only paid £480.00 but luckily I keep all the receipts and mine add to double that.

As I reported issues with the TV to my local REP on occasions, my TV still wasn't fixed or replaced so I sold it for £10.00 even though it was worth 10 fold of that, BAYV have made me so insecure and stressed I couldnt have the product as I couldn't bear to look at it, let alone watch it. But BAYV if you read I won't let you win!!! :rotfl:

Further forward this Regional Manager (Peter) called and wanted to meet me at my house and i said no way, I'm only going to resolve this matter through mail, he said "why are you being so awkward" he then threatened with court action, I said "great, that's what I want" he got very angry so i terminated the call.

2 weeks later he phones my partner (who is not on the contract) and said he was going to get him done also as he was on the application (not the signed contract) and will do him for fraud. HOW???

I never bite but this very arragent man Peter was trying to use my partner as a weapon against me, so... I called Peter back, he then goes on to threaten me with the police for criminal damage and fraud and he'll take my partner down with me, I said OK fine, see you in court!!! and terminated the call again.

Peter again phones my partner again to find out further details against me, unfortunately he didn't get what he wanted so he said to my partner "Your partner is just and a little boy and is just trying to be cocky"

Is this truly a professional, well trained, competent company?

Nothing I have requested in my complaints letter has been done let alone resolved within the time frame I gave of 14 days, which is now over a month ago.

What can I do? what are my rights? I have paid over 2/3 of the product.

ANYONE CONCIDERING BAYV PLEASE JUST BE VERY AWARE THEY ARE A SHAMBLES, THEY BULLY YOU AND THEY HAVE NO CARE OR CONSIDERATION FOR THERE COMPLAINTS PROCESS, ONE WORD TO SUM THIS COMPANY UP ~BACKWARD~

I would appreciate some advise on my way forward from here, bearing in mind they can't get the product back, i've paid over £800.00 for a £400.00 TV and the level of Customer Service I and my partner has received from this awful company?

God bless anyone who goes through what we have, Don't SIGN ANYTHING

Just to clairfy you have sold this TV you were paying for on HP yet you have only paid off two thirds of the price you agreed?

My best advice would be to give Consumer Direct a call as they will be able to advise, but if have signed a contract and have sold the TV before completing payment for it then I suspect you are in a bit of a pickle.

Don't know how this sort of thing works, but I would have thought that it was their TV until you've paid for it as agreed. What was the agreement for how you will pay for it?
Obviously can't support their bullying actions, but I don't blame them for wanting their TV back if it is theirs.

Can I suggest next time trying freegle / freecycle?
We got our current TV from there a year or so ago and it's been the best TV we've ever had.
Not likely to get a flat screen, of course, but most people don't need that.

So lets see, you entered without force into an agreement to buy a TV that you pay for via a coin meter and the said TV remains their property until paid for in full. You then vandalise their property by removing the fitted coin meter and send them this back. You follow this by selling the TV for £10 even though it does not as yet belong to you. At one point a regional manager asked to visit you to try to resolve this matter but this you refused and I can only gues because you had illegaly removed the coin meter and sold the TV. You say you have paid 2/3 of the agree cost i.e. £800 and this is for a TV worth only £400 but yet you must have been aware of the full cost before you signed the agreement. It may just be me but all of this does not add up and seems a bit one sided. I could also ask why did you not just save up and buy a TV for the £800 you paid afterall a TV is a luxury you do not really need, I have quite often gone a couple of month without even watching TV because I have been too busy doing other stuff so I sure that I could manage a few months without TV rather than put my self in so much debt and pay 3 times the amount for a set.

Edited to add after seeing JimmyTheWigs post I quite often see old cathode ray TV's offered on freecycle here and we are only a small island, if your finding it that hard to afford a TV then I am sure one of these will do as the latest model is not that essential.

If you really couldn't afford it why buy a £400 TV? why not a £100 (or less) TV

I wouldnt use that company myself,my mother had a TV from them and when i was cleaning around the TV i accidently knocked out the wire from the coin box into theTV and noticed it was just a standard AV cable so i went upstairs, stole my sisters boombox cable and we started watching the TV for "free", but we kept the payments up,as a matter of fact we paid more when we disconected the box. in the end she was found out and the guy said he had to take the TV and terminate the contract as it was against the contract to remove the box, not against the law. fair enough, she broke the contract terms.

i think saying she "Vandalised" the box by removing it is extreme, otherwise id be vandalising my house everyday when i unplug things!

But with this lady, she shouldnt have sold the TV, in that time and with the money you paid, if you saved it up you would have an even bigger and better TV and it would be all yours.

GL in court, you will need it!
