All this fuss over scratches on the temporary plastic covers? That's what they are there for! The scratches could've been made by the machine as an innocent part of the process of applying the cover, or the covers could have been scratched before application. I really think you need to worry about more important matters.

It's only only the temporary plastic cover. It's the back as well, and they are not merely scratches. What you are saying is that I should simply suck it up (or rather should have when I received the phone).

Common sense is that if a NEW phone has these cosmetics defects from the outside, chances are higher (if compared with any other new phone) that there may be an internal defect as well. I chose not to turn the phone on and simply returned based on the judgement I made from its external appearance. I even took the opinion of two people before I sent it back and let them view the phone. They encouraged me even more to send back the phone to buymobilephones.net

I received the replacement phone today and I am quite happy with it as it looks brand new and different than the one I received last time. It does not have any of the cosmetics defects the old one had. I have doubts on whether they actually replaced the phone with a new one but refused to admit their actions to preserve their reputation.

Your allegation makes no sense. It would preserve their reputation better if they informed you they were replacing the handset as a gesture of goodwill! Have you checked the unique IMEI number is the same as the original delivery note?
