Bread Maker - worth it?
Comments

I also use my bread maker 3/4 times a week, I don't buy bread in from the shops anymore. We have the Panasonic SD253 - I love it0
-
We use ours probably 6 to 7 times a month.
problem is we have a couple of delis that bake their own bread which is superb.
TBH it is dead easy to use and not a hassle at all. I make dough, white bread, wholemeal, nan bread, multigrain - whatever takes my fancy.
Ours is a panasonic too - cant remember the number but has not let us down.0 -

Can't see the point of them myself when you consider how much they cost, with practice doing it by hand isn't much trouble.0

Hi BigMummaF,
This thread should help you to decide so I've added your thread to it to keep all the replies together.

If you genuinely don't have the time to make bread by hand, then they are great. Personally, I've had it up to here with mine! It is so finicky to use, even white loaves. It makes great dough for my breadcakes, but in the time it takes I coudl make my own. I think I'm going to get rid of it and work by hand.
Plus, if you make your own totally by hand, you havemore control on what goes in - I dislike the amount of sugar and salt I need to put in my breadmaker loaves, plus the fact it seems unable to makea good wholemeal loaf!0 -
I don't buy bread from a shop. I make loaves, rolls, pizza etc etc, white, seeded, wholemeal, malted."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

We love our bread maker:D We couldn't live without it - or rather we wouldn't want to:D They make the most fab bread that you can't buy in the shops - good for pizza bases too0

Just ordered a new BM Panasonic one its my second one because for my household one BM just isnt enough.I couldnt live without mine it produced fabulous dough for an assortment of bread products and fully baked bread when I need it too.Yes I could bake bread by hand but I could also wash clothes by hand but I wouldnt want to do that either:D .So for me my BM is as important as my washing machine

Since purchasing my Panasonic SD255 last September, I have never bought a loaf of bread. I get great results everytime with bread and pizza bases. Money well spent in my opinion.Jasmine0
