  • If you are going for a breadmakerIcannot fault the panasonic SD253 we were given it as a present and it makes the most delicious bread, we have never had a failed loaf with the machine ever.

I am sure loads of others will second the panasonic recommendation, you can get cheaper models but they don't bake bread as well at all.

    Hi dubgirl,

I agree with the others a breadmaker is well worth it, I love my Morphy Richards Fastbake. These older threads might help you:

  • hope HIPPYCHICK is right i have recently bought myself a Panasonic sd252 and am at the moment waiting (not very patiently) for it to be delivered.

cant wait to try it out and see how good it really is.:rotfl:
  • I've had my breadmaker for about a year now and have only bought a loaf when I was on holiday. I love my breadmaker, a Panasonic and wouldn't want to give it up now.

The Hot Cross bun dough is lovely in it, miss the cross off and you can have them all year round LOL I need to work through more of the receipes but haven't had a problem yet, other than OH forgetting to put the paddle in it one time, mmmm men!
  • there is nothing better than the smell of freshly made bread flowing around the house on a cold winter day....:Dand the price of bread is on the way up apparently...who care's we don't buy it...

Definitely worth buying! I bought one a little while ago (the Panasonic). The bread tastes like bread 'used' to - not like the cardboard stuff even the 'finest' ranges produce. There's less waste and more room in the freezer (because I'm not storing loaves for the week in there) for other bargains.

    Do it.

    You'll never look back!

Whilst cost is a key driver dont forget you'll also know exactly what has gone into your bread as well.

Thanks for all the replies, you have definitely got me thinking. Its my birthday at the end of the month, so could well be asking for a breadmaker. I'm going to check out prices, models etc
  • I've just got a Morphy Richards fastbake - yesterday in fact. Set it up last night on the timer - result: lovely smell in the house and gorgeous bread for breakfast.

How can that NOT be worth it?
