Steer well clear of them. I received a bill from them for £450. I responded to an ad online for a FREE PPI check. Just asked basic personal details of nsme address and contact numbers.Heard nothing from them at all, signed no contracts with anyone or received any questionnaires to complete or sign.
Gave up on them so Approach barclays myself fill all their forms within a week get response requesting more details direct from Barclays so a further month down the line and 10 phone calls to and from Barclays I received a cheque for £950 And further letters from barclays saying there's a further 2 ppi refunds due that are currently in the calculations process.
The day after depositing my cheque a demand for £450 from uclaim4me in accordance with the "signed" terms and conditions.
Currently seeking legal advice on whether I'm liable for a contract that has never nor would have ever been signed or agreed to.
I will really loose faith in the legal system here if it is deemed that you can be made liable for a contract you have never signed. Not talking about an automatically renewing contract that rolls over like a phone contract that would require you to cancel it at the end.
As I never signed for anything in the first place0 -

Speak to the legal ombudsman who regulates CMCs. If they do not have a proper "wet" signature from you on a letter of authority they can't operate on your behalfSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Had a similar problem , it would seem Uclaim4me got my details via a site myoffers and a electronic signature was placed on a letter of authority that looks nothing like mine.
I do vaguely remember doing this but never thought this would be placed on a legal binding contract
looks like I will end up paying them , even though I submitted no forms via Uclaim4me directly and no wet signature0 -
Don't use them!! I didn't ask them to do anything but they did - without my authorisation!! They are now ringing to say they've got me some money, which I didn't ask for and that I owe them their 30%! Since then, they have rang me almost every day and sent me a form to fill in to authorise them to get PPI for me - which I haven't returned!! They are nuisances and I'd love to know how to stop them harassing me!!

Don't pay them. They did the same to me - I went on MyOffers and they gave them my details, which I didn't authorise. They've also got completely wrong details on there and an address I've never known, so I doubt they can get anything anyway. They ring me every day and send me letters telling me to sign the forms to get my money (which i didn't ask them to get and haven't got!).

They are scammers!
I have just reported then to the FCA and Action fraud.
I never contacted them in the first place, I never signed any papers, I never gave them my details,I do not have PPI and if I did I would claim myself for free and certainly not go through a fee charging company.
I received a letter from Uclaim4me with a form already filled in with all my details, even date of birth. They wanted me to sign it and return it to them to start a PPI claim. Obviously, I did not. I went on their website to see who they were and found the 'contact us' form. I then sent them a message asking them to remove my details from their mailing list and telling them that I did not need their services.
A few days later I received an email telling me that my claim had been started!!!
That's when I reported this to the FCA and action fraud.
I also had several missed calls from a 0203 number ( like theirs) when I tied to call that number back I just got a recorded message and then the phone went dead. As it all happened in the same time frame I can only assume that they were Uclaim4me too.
As I realised that they would very probably try to get some hefty fee from me for that unrequested claim, I called them this morning, and was told that they had a signed form from me and the guy, trying to prove that he was telling the trust I guess, told me that the signature was a squiggle!!!!!
I explained to him that my signature is never a squiggle and furthermore, that the bank they were trying to claim from is not my bank anyway.
After I informed him that I had reported them to the FCA and ActionFraud and after he had a chat with his manager, He eventually agreed to cancel my claim.
He also admitted that they got my details from a mailing list!!
How can these people be registered with FCA when they obviously try to scam people!0 -
Thread is from 2010.
Don't worry folks, PPI complaints and with them the CMC gravy train will become a thing of the past in just a few short weeks...0
