Just wanted to but in & mention that there was an infamous local roadsign that read "Ham Sandwich"- but it got nicked so many times they changed it!
It was probably better then! You wouldnt see any teens drinking there now!!! Yes, I was looking forward to telling people I was getting married in a Ham Sandwich!Only good thing though!
ariarnia - yes, I love that review, it made me laugh when I first read it (and that was when I was just discovering the true horror of the venue we had booked for our wedding!!). I can just picture it all in my head from the descriptions, I wish I could write like that!!0 -

So not Toto's restaurant in Bury, then?0 -
Sorry to hear that OP, I always regarded the Blazing Donkey to have a fairly good reputation around these parts!
It might be worth a quick call to Canterbury registry office, because they recommend this venue as one of their "Kentish Ceremony" venues, and advertise it on the TV screen in the waiting room too. I was there getting married this week and saw quite a few ads for the Donkey......
Personally, I wouldn't book with a venue like that anyways. I find its much more formal to actually get married at the registry office, they have a very nice formal "Drawing Room" downstairs which really sets the ceremony off a treat. Then you could just organise the reception seperately.
Glad you got the issues sorted though!0 -
Ooh I followed your other thread on this place, I'm glad you're finally able to name and shame them.
I also love that there's a place called Ham Sandwich in Kent0 -

Its debated as to wether its actually in Sandwich, I think it is but people do argue that its not.
Ham is a village a couple of miles out of Sandwich0 -

For a general place to eat and drink its nice.
Just seems they are very "forgetful" when it comes to bookings and payments etc
My idea of nice isn't a place which doesn't have enough staff, is dirty, an a-hole of a manager/owner and has an inability to serve HOT food. Who wants to eat lukewarm steak???!!!The man without a signature.0
