I use my slow cooker all the time for things like stews etc in Winter but put it away every Summer. I wonder if you could give me some inspiration for warmer weather recipes to do in it. Thanks in advance everyone.0

Soup is still good even in summer - just make with whatever's in season. How about doing a whole chicken for salads? I do stew all year round because I still like it for lunch at work even if it's summertime0

Hi, I'm the same a bit stuck for ideas. The only ones I can think of are chicken, chorizo & chickpea stew which I think is more summer than winter. Soups - tomato & basil, tomato & pepper, any veg you like really - Pasta sauces0

Agree with Pigpen, often do gammon and pulled pork in the S/C in the summer.
Also saves on putting the oven on when (if!) its warm and making he house warmer.
I use mine for bolognaise, chilli, cottage pie, have plans to try a roasted veg pasta sauce with pesto chicken in there shortly. Also to slow cook meatballs in tomato sauce I always ruin them on the hob, and they come out a crumbled mess0 -
I was skeptical of cooking in a slow cooker without water but I did this recipe http://busycooks.about.com/od/chickenrecipe1/r/stickydrumstick.htm
They didn't turn out sticky as the recipe title suggests but they were lovely. Would be lovely with a jacket pot and salad.
I think I removed the skin, can't remember now, sounds like the kind of things I would do.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0 -
I've added your post to our summer slow cooking thread.
