I have to agree with Guys Dad, why wait? I would be contacting the CEO now, not leaving it any longer.

What's the downside about doing it now, but as a suggestion, keep it very brief to him. He hasn't got sufficient time to read the history . Try.

    "Dear CEO,

Back in 2007 i had a Vodafone account, I was in France and racked up a massive phone bit. On my return, I made an agreement with Vodafone that I could cancel my contract and pay the remaining balance of the contract over a period of 3 months in 3 parts.

This was agreed and, apart form a further agreed deferment of 1 month, the debt was cleared as per the agreement schedule.

I was assured on numerous occasions by your Accounts department that there would be no adverse affect on my Credit.

I am planning to make an application for a mortgage and, upon checking my credit rating, I found that there is a Satisfied “Default” from Vodafone. Despite verbal admissions by your company that this would be removed, the record has only been amended to " 5 month late payment and special instruction indicator".

This is almost as bad on a credit record as a default.

In trying to get the record clear, I have contacted the relevant departments in Accounts and Q & A on xxx occasions over the last few weeks and no one has had the courtesy to reply. I is, therefore, as a last resort that I turn to you to see if you can motivate the relevant department to make contact.

    Thank you.

    Yours in anticipation,"

    or similar

Suppose you're correct - I will perhaps leave it till Monday though.. Just in a hope that this gets resolved.. They didn't really admite anything, they removed the default and left a 5 month late payment out of "Good will, due to my previous payment history" - at least that's the line the QA Manager Esther Staples left on my account as a note. Also further to that saying it was correct to leave a 5 month late payment, but i obviously disagree with that with the points i made in the first post, plus have made all those points clear in my fax's which have been ignored.

Should i include the original letter i've been repeatidly sending to Esther Staples aswell?

Something like at the end "I understand you're a busy man, so i have just included the original letter i've been faxing on numerous occasions to Esther Staples in the QA Department. I understand if you do not have the time to read such a lengthy document".

Thanks for the template, looks good.

Cant get more senior than the CEO!

    HQ number +44 (0) 1635 33251.

    HQ Fax +44 (0) 1635 682729.

    HQ address Vodafone Limited
    The Connection

    Berkshire

I suspect the VF rep wont be any different than the reps on their own forum, bit out of order how they removed your thread though.

I decided to take your advice and write to the CEO now

When i attempt to send a fax to that number it just rings though, doesn't seem to be the fax number. :(

    Hi thedalmeny,

I am very new to posting so please bear with me.

I have just had a look at vodafones 'code of practice' info on the web and there is a complaints procedure. It also directs you to an ombudsmen site.

(trying to post a web page but it wont let me as I am new user). Please put world.wide.web in front of otelo.org.uk

I only mention this as I had problems with a credit card company and was and the end of my tether. I decided to take my issue to the financial ombudsmen and I had a result within 2 days and a refund. This Otelo is an independant ombudsmen by the look of things. Thought it might help also in your case. They have to acknowledge the letter and respond within a given time. Thought it might be worth a look.

Yeah i need a deadlock letter before i can goto Otelo, unfortunately i can't even get them to acknowledge my faxs let alone give me a deadlock letter if that is the eventual outcome.

Otherwise i've gotta wait another 4 weeks until i can take it to Otelo without the deadlock letter, as you need it to be 8 weeks from your original complaint to goto them. but that is a possible option and thanks for your advice.

Repeated my fax's again this afternoon to each number

They must have at least 10 copies of the same letter, you'd think at least one would be acknowledged.

If they work the same as we do, faxes go through a fax gateway and get turned into emails which get dropped into the correspondence in box. The problems is (at least our) correspondence dept get several thousands a day, so the backlog can be very long . . .

Yeah i'm inclined to agree - unfortunately with them ignoring recorded royal mail letter sent 3 weeks ago and countless fax's over the last 2 weeks.. I get the feeling it's a bit more than just "bit of a backlog"

Indeed. I'd go straight to 4743hudsonj plan and contract the CE. Ok he'll never see it, but someone in his office will start a fire under someone (much lower on the food chain) to get it sorted for you.

Yeah - the fax number isn't working though.

So i'm gonna send it as a letter recorded post instead.

Can't believe people who have been getting my letters and faxes think it's "ok" to just ignore them, it's beyond belief.
