Good morning  I'll add this to the main cream thread later, but I have a specific baking query

I made individual trifles for a meal with friends yesterday evening. I have some whipped double cream left over, and thought I might do some baking, which I can serve with the cream.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might bake, please
I can only think of scones

I know it's not baking - but could you make butter (ie by shaking it in a jar?) - you could always bake with the butter then!weaving through the chaos...0

How about a sour cream cake? There are lots of recipes if you google. Sour the cream by adding a small amount of lemon juice. The one on the Shelter web site seems to freeze well if that helps.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Ooh yes, my mum used to make a coffee and cream cake.
Make a plain sponge cake (3 eggs, 6oz butter, 6 oz self-raising, 6 oz sugar and 1 and a half teaspoons baking powder).
Make a cup of strong coffee, stab cake all over with a skewer and pour over the coffee. Cake should be squidgy.
When completely cool spread the entire cake (top and sides) with whipped cream.
Definitely a pudding type cake.0 -

I love clafoutis, especially with plums!
Sainsbury's online have a recipe for cherry clafoutis flan, using sugar, eggs and double cream for the filling with optional ground almonds. (Can't seem to post a link direct to the recipe, sorry!)

You could vary the fruit (and booze?) suggested depending on what you have in.0 -
