And you could of parked legally and arrived back in time to move before your ticket expired.

It does sound mean but I expect he's got targets to meet and you were an easy catch.
  • I received a parking ticket in Islington, and successfully contested it as the road markings were unlawful.

I suggest you head to https://www.pepipoo.com

Yeah, because it's always easy to judge exactly how long something's going to take to the minute. It's always easy to know in advance which days the queues are going to be long, which days you'll need the toilet, etc.

When did this board become full of smart @rses who like to gloat at other's expense?

You may not care but it's people like you that will be the downfall of these forums.

BTW OP be careful because Islington will be £120 fine or £60 if paid within their timeframe. I don't think that it is unreasonable for you to attend late by a few minutes but this unfortunately doesn't matter. Head over to Pepipoo and see what they can do. Good Luck

They did this to me in tunbridge wells, I was 5 minutes over, and tried to appeal but had to pay in the end, only saving grace was it was 'only' £25 which is not too bad compared to London fines, feel your pain!! :(
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

Can I ask , is it a council ticket with all their stuff on it, or one from a private parking company?

If its the latter, safe to say you can completely ignore it as its just an invoice and its not enforcible in law at all, also you should have placed this question in the other forum for parking tickets as you wouldn't receive the smart !!!! answers by a certain individual above.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
