but isn't written between the lines though, how can you be sure that anyone's house has damp unless it gets checked out. For most people ignorance is bliss, if the surveyor is too lazy to check out any problems than that is his fault.0

It would be interestiong to know what would happen if a surveyor missed such things. Normally the report is couched in vague language about recommending further investigation, or couldn't gain access to inspect such and such. I can't see a surveyor saying couldn't inspect external wall due to car parked in proximity , or couldn't inspect wall due to sofa. I suspect most experienced surveyors have seen cover up attempts dozens of times, and will be likely to look closer rather than risk missing something.Been away for a while.0
