Right, I will do it via USB stick. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier! I think I have one somewhere..
Thanks0 -
Hi guys,
can I have some more help pls?
Right, last night I downloaded those song I purchased on Amazon on USB stick and then put them in my PC and Itunes (dragged it from USB stick to Itunes) and to Iphone (by syncing). As long as the USB stick was in the PC it was all fine, but I then took it out and put more music on by ripping it out of CDs... At the end of the evening when I synced again to get the CD music on my Iphone an icon came up that those 2 songs from Amazon could not be updated because the file for them cannot be found?? However they are on my Iphone... So I don't understand it now.
Also - my OH purchased whole CD of Scouting for girls on Itunes and the CD is now in his PC. Can I again use the USB stick to transfer that CD to my computer as well? And do I just dragg it again?
Thank you

I would personally copy the files on your usb onto your music folder and then open them with itunes. I think you have settings which don't make a backup copy of the music in the itunes folder?
You can do the same with the itunes album your husband bought but is it DRM protected? I don't think it is but if it is, you may have to put your husbands email address and password so you can play it.0 -

I don't know? It is so complicated and there is so many icons!!
The thing is that if I put my OH's password and address in then I can't sync it with my Iphone. I am not interested really about playing music on computer as much, I just want to make sure it's in my phone.0 -
I don't buy music on itunes so I don't know how it works but I have a feeling itunes/ipod sees the music as under your husbands account and not your account so doesn't allow to be played? Do people agree or not? Do you both have different accounts?
If I am right, the best way would be to burn a cd of the album from itunes and then import that with itunes, which would remove DRM. I may be outdated though as I have a feeling DRM was removed on itunes?0 -

We have 2 different accounts, 2 different computers. That is why I asked whether I can transfer the music from one to the other via USB stick and if so how do I do that? Just dragg it from his iTunes onto my USB stick? I mean putting it on USB stick should be the same as burning new CD?!0 -
If the music is DRM protected you have to burn it to a cd-r or cd+r to remove the DRM. You can't use a RW or a USB in your case.
I think the best way would be to do:
copy music from husband's itunes onto usb
copy music off usb onto your music file
open music from music file in itunes
If I'm correct when you try and play the songs, apple will reveal a box stating that the music is linked to your husbands account and ask if you want to put in his password to let it play on your computer.
Type in username and password and that should now allow you to play the music in itunes.
Now copy the music onto iphone which should hopefully now play!0 -
Oh God, why does it have to be so bloody complicated? I am not even sure he has CD burner on his laptop. Hopefully. Because it might be easier then to mess up with passwords and accounts.0

My daughter won an iPod and had to get me to sort this rubbish out for her. It took about half an hour just to install iTunes. Admittedly after that I didn't have huge problems but it seemed rather stupid to me to have to import music from folders on my NAS where she keeps her music into iTunes and then sync the iPod with the PC. All in all it took me about an hour to do what you'd do on an open platform in 5 minutes.0 -
Try the method above with the scounting for girls album using the usb to transfer. I assume your husband is ok for you to have the music too so just ask him to pop in his email address and password in if the music needs authorising.0
