Hi everyone,

I have an Iphone and I would also like to use it as an Ipod for music in the house. However I am used to purchasing music from Amazon or such a places, they are far cheaper then Itunes. And also I already bought some before I got my Iphone.

Now I have an Itunes at 1 computer where all my previously purchased music was. It all automaticaly transfered to Itunes. But now I cannot get it on my phone? Anyone knows why? Will I have to burn it to a disk and then put it to my Itunes at home (on my main computer) and that will let me put it in my phone?

Anyone can explain Itunes in simple terms to me pls? So far it's nightmare.

Should work fine, I'd be looking around the Sync settings in itunes and exactly what files/file types its setup to sync/not sync

Ahh.. the joys of proprietary platforms. Life is so much easier with those cheap and nasty phones and MP3 playes that you just copy your MP3s to but of course the boy god Jobs deems you must use his bloatware to put music on his kit.

??? I need simple terms? Please?

When I open my iTunes (with phone plugged in) there is "library" and separately "Iphone". I tried to drag the song and drop it into my phone's file, but it doesn't want to allow it.

How about making two playlists A and B. Should be a plus sign on the bottom left hand side to make a new playlist, and add the music onto here.

Connect iphone and when you click on the iphone bit on the right it should give you an option of what you want to sync. Only have Playlist A sync with the iphone and not your library. Repeat by Playlist B and other ipod.

Sorry my usb cable is broken so I don't know what it exactly says but I hope you can find something similar in those settings.

Are you saying you have two copies of iTunes? Did I read that right from this bit?

If so, your iPhone will only sync with one of those so you will have to move all your music to one copy of iTunes (your main computer?) or sync your iPhone with the other copy of iTunes.

If I've read it wrong then ignore me!

Yes, I have one copy on each computer. One on my new laptop and one my old laptop where the CD drive died (apparently mother board problem) so I bought a new one. But the music from Amazon was only on the old one... Does that mean the music I bought is lost? Because I cannot burn on that laptop due to the drive being gone...

Going forward - can I still buy my music on Amazon and just save it to Itunes? And then what you are saying is that when I plug my Iphone into my main comp it will sync and the new music will download into my Iphone?

    Thank you

Depeding on size it may take a bit of time but you could use your iphone as a harddrive and copy the music file on the old computer into your new computer.

Enable disk use? or something similar under iphone options = makes iphone viewable under My Computer. Attach iphone to old computer and copy music onto iphone and then copy that onto new computer...

You could transfer the music via usb (flash or external hard drive). Then sync your ipod when it's all on one laptop.

yes you can only have it syncing with one library at a time, you need to copy the music off the old machine onto the new one adding it to the itunes folder (ie add the contents to whats currently in your iTunes folder on your new laptop, don;t delete the stuff on your new laptop in the process).

    Options for doing this
Easiest -plug iin a USB drive and copy accross on that
or -get hold of an external USB CD drive and use that to burn the music to CD
or -remove the hard disk from yuor old laptop, put it into a drive caddy and use that to connect it to your new laptop
or -if possible use your ipod as a portable hard drive and copy the files onto/off of that between the laptops
or -various other methods growing increasingly tedius
