two packs for £3 at Asda and they were yum :D

*Pickle watches Daisy grab Martin by the nose and rub it in a pool of cherry juice*

    Now that's mean! ;) :rotfl:

And Martin, it happens to us all at one time or another, so don't beat yourself up about it, just train your brain to set off a red light when it sees a '£1 off' sticker unaccompanied by an actual price tag. ;)

My mother did this yesterday! she saw bright red sticker with £1 on it and thought she had a bargain it wasn't till after she showed me that I pointed out it said save £1 (she should really wear her glasses more!)...she has since checked her receipt and found that she paid "quite a bit" for them, she was too embarrassed to tell me how much...and I think my dad was listening!;)

Now Martin - what was so urgent about your text that it couldn't wait a few seconds until you'd finished your transaction at the till. Phones are a terrible distraction - they really shouldn't be used while doing something else such as driving (illegal, anyway), shopping etc. Concentrate on what you're doing & leave phoning & texting to a more appropriate moment. So many people on this thread have said that they've done the same thing as you, so collectively mobile phone use has been responsible for a lot of wasted money.

Cherries are a killer! I only now buy them (and various types of berries) from the fruit stall outside work. M&S charge so much for fruit!

    M&S are a killer

its so hard to buy anything that's even remotely healthy and convenient but M&S mini shops are one of the few easy to get to places where you can, buy boy do you pay through the nose for it

its also amuses me that they sell a 10 pack of cocktail sausages for £2.00 and on another isle sell a 50 pack for £4.00 :D

It's that grr moment when you think you've been had...

How much!! - did I pay for them!!!!

I did a Tesco online shop and they sent me a whole kilo of them instead of 100g so I had to send them back with the driver, all night though I was craving cherries. :)

But we shouldn't feel bad about treating oursleves now and then, we all work hard.

I think it's the not realising the price and allowing yourself the savour the happy glow of buying a special treat that you were done out of really Martin?

Go and buy another pack and enjoy them!

You probably saved money compared to what you'd have spent having bought them in the Morrisons store you left... bags of cherries at the moment in Morrisons are £9.99/kg

  • Martin, someone needs to tell you- cherries just are expensive everywhere and also, shame on you texting whilst at the checkout!! (bit rude I always think)
  • I have been trying to grow some tomatoes, lettuces and cabbages. Clearly need to look at how to grow cherries - definitely money to be made there! Mind you if it is as successful as the other stuff, I won't give up my day job just yet!
