As a newcomer I would like to join this Challenge if that's ok.

I usually spend £3.85 for breakfast and coffee, then £5.50 for lunch, plus another £3 for coffee and snack later in the afternoon. That's £271.70 for June :(.

Hopefully Wife will also be taking lunch from home for more savings :)

I'm aiming for spending only £10 this month and using the other £260 for debts.

    Good luck everyone !!!

Hey Ashamed (I would love it if you changed your name... you have nothing to be ashamed about!! ;)). I used to be in this territory of spending HUGE amounts on food for work - a similar amount, in fact. Now, I bring HM food in. I cut back first on the lunch, then the afternoon snack, then the breakfast. I take my own instant coffee for the train journey and then make another one at work (we get it free) for the journey home. I had great satisfaction paying over £60 into a separate account last week (becuase I would spend it, otherwise!). It's a great feeling to change your habits like that and pay down your debt!

    Hi guys!

    Can I join in?

Aiming for no bought lunches this month. I MAY allow myself 2 bought coffees if it is raining and I can't cajole friends to have a picnic!

Alternatively I may allow myself to prepare a picnic for me and a friend - I've already found this can be done more cheaply than going to lunch and just paying for myself, plus, you can call in the favour at a later date!

    Good morning!

I'd like to join in this please :)

I've started my spending diary this morning, and it's hit home that, between me and my boyfriend, we have spent £8 on breakfast and will be spending a further £3 each on lunch today - £14 for one day!!

This has to stop, and I shall not be spending anymore on breakfasts, and would like to limit myself to a maximum of one bought lunch a week. Whether I can get him to agree to the same remains to be seen, but according to my calculator, that's over £250 we should save between us... so it shouldn't take too much to convince him :p

Thanks Krisp. I think I'll keep it for now until I feel that I'm making some serious ground, then I'll change it to something more appropriate :)
