    Thanks everyone.

Im afraid I dont have any news, except I called the coucil for an update today and they told me the guy who had him phoned yesterday and told them but he wouldnt wait for the warden and the council didnt think of contacting me? and he let the dog go again. To say we are devastated is an understatement. I have spent most of today driving around the area, I have visited the council used dog pound he isnt there and calling vets etc.

I have to go away tomorrow and luckily some very good friends have printed posters and are handing them out and putting them up in the local area for us, I have my parents staying at my house so they can man the phone and I am diverting all my mobile calls to my sister. I am very fortunate to have the support I have.

Im also in contact with doglost who are helping too.

I am fearful that the longer he is away the less chance we have of getting him back. Im beside myself, I just want him home.

I really hope that I can come on here and give you all good news that he is safe and sound where he should be and I will certainly update this thread as and when I can.

Thanks again for everyones help and advice and if anyone is in the area then please keep an eye out for my baby.

    xxxx

How about trying your local radio station? Most have a phone-in late night - worth a try.

Can you get the local paper interested? Email them a photo of the kids looking miserable with an empty collar and lead, be shameless and really play it up - the papers love a sob story and if you take the photos for them they have a ready made story that stands a good chace of getting printed.

I've got my fingers crossed for you xx
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

    Hi Norbertsmum and thanks,

We have tried the local radio stations they said they 'dont do things like that anymore'
I have been in touch with Jo from doglost (best thing I ever did!) She has a contact at our local paper who may be able to help us by publishing a story of some kind. We are going to give the posters a day or so to see if they generate any info. Our friends have been amazing and are helping us out by printing and distributing posters, his details are appearing in status updates all over facebook so fingers, toes and everything crossed

Aww this is so sad, I really feel for you, hope you find him soon, I ahve 2 staffies and love them 2 bits.
My friends staffie went walk about last year and a family had taken him in and were going to keep him, it was only the advert in the local shop window that made them realise that he already had a family and they contacted my friend and gave him back.

    Good Luck hunny xx

This might sound like an odd one but try calling the local taxi firms and ask the controller to ask the drivers to keep an eye out.

My cousin is a taxi driver and he says this happens about once a month and they have found quite a lot of dogs this way as taxi firms literally have drivers everywhere. So you basically have eyes everywhere looking for him.

I obviously have no idea if your local taxi firms would be okay with this, but it can't hurt to ask. There are two huge taxi firms here and thankfully for the dogs and owners they've helped they are very happy to help with this sort of thing.

    Hope you find him soon.

I live in Laindon and have been keeping an eye out and in doing so, I have spotted posters for two lost cats and one lost dog.
