No Buying Toiletries in June Challenge!

I've just finished reading the pages I missed :eek:You're not alone - I don't know what it is, maybe I get more satisfaction from 'treating' myself to something more luxurious?! I mostly do it with toiletries - e.g. spending ages hunting down a cheap eye makeup remover, but woudln't even think twice about walking into House of Fraser and paying full price for the Lancome one
I've no issues with buying Cadbury's bars though - wish I did :rotfl:I quite cheerfully spend £45 on a set of overpriced smellies from QVC then refuse to buy a 99p deodorant in Boots cos I know it's 97p in Wilkos...
The cheap versus expensive thing is hard for me cos every time I try and find cheaper alternative to my favourites I end up trying three that don't really make the grade and spending more than I would have if I'd just bought my favourite in the first place! Doh! (and then giving up the search and having to shell out for the favourite on top of that!)
Just slathered myself in coconut oil too :j0 -
hiya girls, a few UU to repoort
Herbal Escensces (can't think how to spell - mind's gone blank! lol) Raspberry Long Ends Conditioner WIBA yes it was nice and felt nourishing, but again is the same as any other HE (avoiding spelling it!) conditioners!
Dove Colour Protect Conditioner WIBA yes again i think all dove products can be interchanged and i like the clean smell!
Dove Colour Protect Shampoo WIBA yes " "
I also cleared out my toiletries/make up box and threw a carrier bag of products away that i just will not use/so old. I have a bag of cosmetics for the daughters of a woman at work to bring in just to play about with (approaching teenage years) and they are just pink lipglosses and brown eyeshadows so nothing too provocative in case anyone is panicking!
have a good one x0 -
Yesterday was PY(T)NS. I opened a new bottle out of a gift set I'd had about three Xmases ago. I spotted this colour in my stash about 3 weeks ago and gave into temptation yesterday! I'd describe the colour as grape and I keep giving it admiring glances! A girl has to do what she can to brighten up the day after the soooooo disappointing football yesterday!0

Morning Gorgeouses!
I am in dire need of an overhaul this week so I plan to do some beauty spadework every night un til I feel groomed again!
I coloured my hair last night, microplaned my feet, removed old half grown out toenail polish, cut, filed and buffed my nails and toenails then slathered them in Alpha H rejuvenating cream and a pair of socks!
Tonight I'll paint my toenails - and maybe even my finger nails. (I hardly ever paint my finger nails!)
The next night I'll give myself a facial, bodyscrub and lavish extra large dollops of body cream all over.
It'll be hair removal the next night.
Then all that's left is to slap on a little fake tan, tint my eyebrows and eyelashes, shape my eyebrows. (Might actually go and get them threaded cos they have got a bit out of hand lately.)
Book a haircut asap...
That should about do it!
Have a great day lovelies! :jNot everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

my plan is to remove old TNP this morning(hate the bit round the edges that refuses to budge!)plaster some of the nair trial gel on the legs before I shower to go to work this afternoon then PYNM back to the red salsa from no 7 tonight.
used up a mini perfume (free from BS neroli WNBA didnt last well at all)plus a few No7 creams(freebies)WNBA silly tops on jars mean hard to remove cream and didnt do it for me anyway!0 -
A few UUs to report after my weekend away:
A pack of Boots Fragrance Free face wipes. WIBA? Yes, they're a good alternative to the No7 ones when there's no voucher, but I have a big stash still at the moment so not just yet.
A sachet of foundation, I think it was L'Oreal Matte Mousse or something? WIBA? Maybe yes, I liked the way it went on but I always think foundation sachets are nicer than the real thing as I can never find one I like as much as anything I get in the sachets! However I never actually buy anything I get in a sachet so maybe that's why! Still a few to use up before I look around again.
A bottle of Barcelo hotel shower gel. WIPA (would I pinch again?!)? No probably not, it doesn't lather up very much. Lots and lots of shower gel still to use, moving on to the dregs of a Soap and Glory Clean on Me travel size.
A travel sized tube of Biotherm Night Cream. WIBA? Only if on a glitch or offer as I imagine it's expensive but I did love it. I have a Sanctuary one from the half price/GWP glitch to use and a Time Delay on from the £5 off/600 points glitch to use as well though so nothing for a while.
I think that's everythingMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.0 -
Ok, I am a long time lurker of this thread but I think its time I admit that I have a toiletry problem. I *think* at the moment have 6 body lotions on the go and more stashed away. And I have a mega amount of shower gel/bubble bath.
I am hoping this thread will keep me on the straight and narrow and make me think more carefully about buying toiletries willy nilly. I'mm compile a list and post it later.0 -

Welcome to the gang hon! I shall look forward to your list! Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
No UUs to report today.
One incoming but it was free! :T Clinique Youth Surge 15ml. I told the SA that I had yet to find a Clinique moisturizer that didn't bring me out in spots (previous SAs insisted that I had dry skin). So she gave me a sample pot suitable for combination/oily explaining that it was suitable for people who felt that their cheeks were "normal" but had a T zone. So far so good but I'll see what it's like in a weeks time.
One going in the bin - S&G Greatest Scrub Of All. My skin stinged a bit after using this so will be sticking to Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream.0 -
one UU for me body shop pink grapefruit body butter WIBIA? yes wasn't to sure of the fragrance at first but in this weather its quite nice. wont need to buy for a while as i have 35 of them in my stash although different fragrances.0
