Hello everyone, sorry about the lack of posts recently, I had exams and lots of revision to do and then I had to catch up with everything, but im up to date now.
I havent had any use ups at the moment but I still haven't bought anything.
I'm nearly at the end of my Soap and Glory iFoam and my Sunsilk shampoo which is really anoying because it is a 350 ml size but the bottle is a tube so to get the shampoo out I have to really squash the bottle and now the lid almost snapped off and doesnt really work, how typical?!
At the weekend I think that I will probally be buying Cotton Pads because I have run out and a body spray because I don't have any perfume or anything to wear at the moment and I am being very picky with smells lately that there isn't any point of buying anything expensive.
A bit of a random post and update for you all.No buying toiletries challenge - Started 10th May 20100 -
Grr. My horse and I must be the only people who the famous insect repelling properties of avon skin so soft do not work for.
We don't tend to get many horseflies round here, more mosquitos, but today we were bitten alive, I'm all lumpy with big, bruising bites, and she, normally no too sensitive has HUGE bites on her. : ( poor thing.0 -
the avon sss doesn't work for me either. I tend to get bitten no matter what i try. I'm sure i must give of a scent that attracts such beasties. I have heard that the B vitamins can make you less appealing to the beasties.0

sorry for lack of posts lately, hope you are all well and are hanging in there! but about being bitten....
last year i got bitten alive on holiday, usually just have the odd bite nothing major but someone recommended the BS coconut body milk lotion? and I have to say that it actually worked for me! might be worth a try, especially if anyone had stashed on it when it was on a glitch earlier in the year!! HTH x0 -
When I holiday in Greece I always buy OFF! spray from the supermarket to ward off mosquitos. For me, it's better (and cheaper!) than any other insect repellent I've bought in this country. Worth looking out for some if you go to Greece.0

A UU to report - a big bottle of Boots Pure moisturising lotion. WIBA? Yes, it's very cheap and quite thick for a lotion. However I have a feeling they don't do this range any more as I bought loads of bottles of it for 25p each about a year ago...and I saw a new range called Silk in Boots yesterday that looks like it might be it's replacement. Hmm. Will try Silk if I can get a good glitch on it, but for now I still have loads of Pure bottles and Body Butters.
Using up a hotel sized White Ginger body lotion (from Hyatt hotels) and then moving on to one wombled from Malmaison! My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

also, i know its naughty but to soothe bites here i apply dettol directly to my skin when bitten, it clears it up quickly so maybe (be better than me!) make up a water/dettol solution and dab the areas with it every hour or so on an evening? put some sudocrem on it too and they should be gone! perhaps experiment with a solution spray of dettol as a repellant for the horse? sorry i'm not very animal savvy so don't know if there would be any side effects!0 -

Hmm, I don't know TBH, dettol is a big, big no-no for dogs and cats though. I've tried most of the other home made repellents recommended over the years with almost no impact on fly numbers.
Can I ask why dettol neat on the skin is naughty?0 -

Sorry, wasnt aware of that!
it says on the bottle not to apply neat to skin! never had a reaction though, but can imagine it might potentially 'bleach' the skin IYSWIM?0 -
oh dear i've been bad, i've just put in an order for Avon, in my defence they were all reduced products and are things i know i will use.
Goes to stand in the naughty corner.0
