Possibly just a random reaction to something you got on it then - perhaps even something airborne. Sounds like putting the serum on might well have soothed it as well, even though it stung at the time. Now it's calmed down, I hope it stays that way for you!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

lostinrates wrote: »hahahaha...take that emu oil. Its gone, in a bucket with some hot water and a little of the shampoo from the hand soap dispenser, and for good measure a dollop of conditioner I found that I think I might have had as a student (I'm 31) and don't feel I can use it on my hair. Any way...who doesn't want the hair on their toes soft
Funnily enough it doesn't smell so bad with the stinky shampoo and the old conditioner in the mix.
:rotfl:Your post made me giggle. What is Emu oil btw?
Also, can anyone tell me the how/why/what on oil cleansing please? Heard it mentioned on another post and even reading the thread I still had no clue!
Hope you're having a great day. Tis dark and rainy here. It might be November already!0 -

It's horrible and dark and grey here too - boo (though I'm in London, which might be the same 'here'?!)
Oil cleansing:
I think of Oil Cleansing as a (way better) replacement for those cream cleansers that you rub on to your face, and then clean off (plus all the mosturising etc after!). It's usually a mixture of 2 oils - castor oil (the essential cleaning/degunking oil) and a 'carrier' oil - which balances and moisturises.
Castor oil is always the smaller percentage, as it can be very drying (I know, oil as being drying for your skin still seems weird to me...:rotfl:), and you only need a little to get the great effects of unclogging pores and bringing all the yucky stuff to the surface where it's got rid of.
I use 20% castor oil, and 80% carrier (jojoba), as my skin can get dry - i think most people start with about 25% castor.
I use jojoba oil as a carrier, but other people use sweet almond oil (I'll be trying this next) and olive oil. You can get the latter 2 from a supermarket, and castor oil usually in Boots pharmacy counters, or Lloyds.
To apply just put about a 10p sized piece in your hand, warm a little, and massage into your face for anywhere between 2 minutes (normal cleanse, remove makeup etc) to 1hr+ (serious treat for skin, deep cleansing etc). Then use a (muslin if you can) cloth to rinse off, or soak the cloth in water as warm as you can stand, and hold it over your face to 'steam' the pores, before rinsing off the oil.
Most people then either don't need to moisturise, or if they do in patches, just apply a little of the carrier oil. Personally I'm still using some moisturiser as well as my skin can get very dry patches occasionally - it's tempermental!
It might take a few days for your skin to look better, as at the start you might have more spots as all the gunk is drawn up to the surface! I only got a couple though, and my skin intanstly felt soooooo much softer and smoother. I love it.
Hope that helps/makes sense!0 -

Hiya I'm a Bzz agent too - Lucky you, i haven't been invited to this one!! I'm only on the Splenda trial at the moment which is handy i guess with the Slimming world and they did give you a fairly big pack! First trial so I might not be eligible for the Nair one?
Well done on the weightloss though! :T0 -
I had an inadvertant acquisition last night, and use up
Arrived home from work to find a free sample of vaseline body lotion - Vaseline moisture locking. Promptly used it last night on my legs instead of the usual body butter so i didn't have to add it to stash. WIBA? maybe... It was actually really nice, and very neutral smell. Not quite as good as body butter, but probably a fair bit cheaper (no-glitch prices).

I'll sort out my Clinique sample size to use for the next little while until the Avon one I've ordered turns up. Everything else is still just spluttering along at the moment - I suspect I'll have another little cluster of UU's towards the weekend but then after that I'll be onto pretty much everything with lots in it.
I had a quick sort out of the bathroom cupboard last night and - would you believe! - I now actually have some spare space in there!!! Great sense of achievement!
Yay for space in the bathroom!
Which Avon foundation is it, and how much coverage is there?0 -
Read this morning in the Metro that if you take an empty tub of moisturiser into Origins in Selfridges in manchester they will give you a tub of moisturiser for free - not sure if this is nationwide but if it is what a great way to add to our stashes for free!My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
