The red light camera doesn't work instantly the light turns red either - there is a small delay of around a second.

If it was 'amber' the Red Light Camera doesn't work- so no ticket by post!

Yes, i suspect the "amber' light probably had more if a reddish hue to it.

Red light's....... I get slightly !!!!y with people jumping red lights when im waiting to turn right at a set of lights, if there's someone behind me I end up sat there block a lane of traffic until they change again!

But if it's on road works, I jump em all the time.... The damn things seem to have nearly 1 minute wait between one changing to red and the other to green :(

Not always. This is programmable and some areas are programming them to work with virtually no delay to catch amber gamblers.

Isn't that slightly irresponsible? teaching them a lesson at the cost of the Fiesta coming from the left/right with 3 kids in the back?

No, they're not setting the lights to stay on amber for almost no time, they're setting the cameras to ticket people who jump the lights by just a little bit. Road safety would not be affected. It sounds a bit harsh though!

    You drove through a redlight.?

    You didn't kill anyone?

You don't know if you were "snapped"?

I figure the best outcome is if you get done:mad::mad::mad:

But if you don't then £60 will be a bargain.

If you get away with that?, then I just read the slightest remorse into your post and you may just learn from it, priceless :T:T
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Yep, Amber isn't changeable it is always 3 secs.

It perhaps is harsh that some areas do so, but they would say that they already give 3 seconds warning and thus there is no need for 1s+ grace. Not sure how much time they give exactly, but I'd imagine in the range 1/4second after red, which is nothing. I often waited on a bus next to a RLC in Edinburgh and it used to go very quickly after red- perhaps 0.5s which is unperceptible probably!

The length of 2 bendy buses back from lights as they change to amber at 30mph and you'd still clear them before the red.

Thanks all. I didn't notice a flash, but I'm not sure that I would have.

That clinches it for me :(:(, if you can't see a red light in front of you, you won't see the white one behind.
