Driving through a red light

Was there a red light camera?0

Three things:
1) You might not have been caught, so you chalk it up to experience and slow down in anticipation in future.
2) You will have been pulled over by a police officer (or flashed on camera, been sent an NIP within 14 days and asked to declare who was driving) and issued with a fixed penalty notice fining you £60 and adding a 3 penalty point TS10 'reminder' not to do it again.
3) You will have been seen by two police officers, summonsed to court and hammered with anything up to the maximum £1000 fine (based on your income) together with either 3 penalty points or a discretional disqualification from driving depending on circumstances and your previous character.
Option 3 is quite rare. My money's on 1 or 2 depending whether you were flashed or not.0 -
I did the same last year...it was amber..and the choice was passengers through windscreen or keep moving. 3 penalty points and £60 fine. All done by post. TS10 as Dave said.0

Thanks both. I 'm really regretting this. I was too far gone to stop.0

Here's a clue. See the amber light? That means STOP. It doesn't mean "put your foot down to get through before the red". If I could stop a 44 tonne artic in the time the light changed from green to red, you sure as hell could in a car.0 -
I was expecting this comment. I fully understand that what I did was incorrect.0

If there was no camera then you should be ok.0

Yes so was I! You'll soon find this forum is full of perfect angelic drivers who can't wait to preach to the less fortunate amongst us
If you get nothing through the post within 14 days then, generally, you're ok... just a matter of wait & see.
'Till then I woudn't worry too much. Just don't do it again lest you be consumed in a torrent of fire & brimstone!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

Whatever you do, if this goes to a court never say that. The mathematics don't add up! It's a debate we've had on here before. You can be 5 bus lengths away from the lights and still go though at 30 without being caught.
I take it you were caught by camera? Just a possibility it wasn't red, but it could be speeding if you sped up and are sure it was amber. Not that it makes a massive difference!0
