All in all a lovely day, and no money spent! :j
This challenge makes you realise that the good things in life dont always need to involve dosh! I'm lucky to be blessed with a great family and OH.
Have a lovely day everyone, thanks for all the posts, they keep me going!:)
Lovely post jinty, thanks. You're right, there's a lot of enjoyment to be gained from life without spending money, I think most of us are finally starting to realise that:j:j

Right, pdd, I'll be off out this afternoon with my clipboard to make some notes for you, though I have a feeling I might get more than a few obscenities (and cider bottles) thrown at me if I venture out when the match is on.... The things I do for you lot.....:rotfl:

Back later to report on my research;);)

Reporting back, pdd.... I can quite categorically say there is no adenoidal whine here... plenty of obscenities, cider, alcopops and anything else alcoholic in a bottle, but no adenoids..... must be a scottish thing so no operation needed for our night out:)

Thanks Spoon, thoroughly enjoyed Dr Who when I got in, made even better by the fact that I hadn't gone to the shop before watching it :)

Well done and glad you enjoyed it - haven't watched it yet, I'm still 3 episodes behind

Well, I've made it into work without going to the shop again and am sitting here with my pre made squash, the debit card is back in the house and the shops wouldn't be open on my way home anyway so I'm clocking in with number 12 :T Giving myself a clap as I think this is the most I've ever done, maybe I can actually do it this month...........perhaps crossing my fingers will mean I can't open my purse :rotfl:

Thanks again for all the updates and encouragement, well done everyone not spending. :TI have been really enjoying this this month and will certainly be back again in July

    Onwards and Upwards all xxxxx

Glad you've enjoyed this month, lots of us have achieved some really good targets, so a round of applause all round, I think

My horse is called Maddy, she's a 17yr old 16.2hh bay thoroughbred mare. She raced (and won!) as a youngster, and used to event at novice/intermediate level. She was retired due to injury and bred 3 foals, then I got her on long-term loan last summer.
She lives on my friends farm, I pay £10 a week for grazing and pay for her hay/straw in winter - she only goes in a stable at night in the winter. She is my main treat in life - DH has his golf days, and I have Maddy!
She was a nightmare when I got her, hadn't been ridden for 4 years and was totally nuts! We've 'bonded' now though, and I trust her completely, even though she still has her stupid nutty moments. I've got a warm gooey feeling even as I type this, I'm so soppy about her!
Do you ever ride at all now 3Dogs? The recession has meant that lots of horses are now free to a good home because no-one can afford to keep them, some people I know do a horse-share and split the costs.

Thanks for the info on Maddy - she sounds fantastic - a racing winner and an eventer - she must have plenty of heart for that - it sounds like you are lucky to have found her, and she to have found you - with any animal, it is a wonderful moment when you 'bond' and I understand when you say that you trust her completely - as for the nutty moments, she would not be herself without them.

It is many years since I have ridden, other than a few treks on Dartmoor/Bodmin whilst on holiday but there is no way I could afford to keep a horse now, and my arthritis & other health problems would not alow me to ride again. I do dream of winning the lottery (which I actually don't do now!) and having lots of dogs, a couple of retired ponies/horses and definitely some donkeys - we have to dream don't we?

Good luck with your jumping - now you've done one competition, you will soon be an old hand at it

I would like to rejoin in July too please, have lost track completely, but not too worried as I do usually keep better track of finances. Move of house has made me wobble more than expected! Still we (finally!) hand the keys back on the flat tomorrow, so I will only have one residence again! :)

    Hi both
The July thread isn't up and running yet, but don't worry you can both rejoin - and will be very welcome:):).

We'll post a link on this thread when it's ready, just put your targets on there and you'll be signed up and ready to roll.

    Hope that's OK

    Good morning everyone!
I'm blowing my own trumpet this morning because yesterday was NSD # 15 - target met - bring on the pony!:j
That was three in a row! Cant believe it! Delighted:j

Today I'm off to pick up some fresh salad stuff as I aint cooking in this heat;). That will do dinners for the next few days with variations ie burgers, quiche, chicken. I'm also going to buy some new t shirts as mine are so old and tired they are going into retirement. Im going to use my birthday money though so not too drastic!
Got on great with knitting yesterday, only got one more sleeve to do. Discovered I was holding the needles a bit oddly, once my Mum showed me a better way it was a lot easier!!

Anyhoo. I'll check back later, off to shops!

    Have a lovely day everyone:)
