    Nargleblast end of term report.

Maths - adept at number crunching, but not always accurate at juggling figures.

English - understands and translates the term NSD to mean No spendy Dosh, but unable to always apply the principle to practice.

History - used to have money once upon a time.

Geography - Familiar with local surroundings, all too skilfull at navigating way to local shop.

Food technology - Must understand that a 6 pack of Cornettos from the local shop is no substitute for a home made yoghourt in the fridge.

Music - knows the words and music to Abba's "Money money money" and "Money makes the world go around" from the musical Cabaret.

Science - Understands the shrinking pocket principle all too well.

PE - Fairly skilled at ducking and diving but has allowed domestic problems to take her eye off the ball.

IT - sadly all too skilled at operating cash machines.

Summary - must try harder next term.

Put me down for 10 in July Spoon!

Nargleblast - love that report...... and a lot of it matches what's written on mine (but for Food Tech, read 3 pack of jam & cream doughnuts is no subsititute for dried fruit/health bars which were bought in bulk from App Foods)

Bought milk on the way home tonight as planned (didn't need anything else for meals to the end of the month), but was a naughty girl last night. Decided to have a leeeeetel look at App Foods (haven't ordered since March), and ended up with a 'small' (in terms of types of items) order - which I placed just after midnight so I didn't lose yesterdays NSD ;)

I now have a load of L0yd Gr0ssman goodies winging my way - namely 4x2kg chicken & veg soup, 2x2kg tomato & basil sauce, 2x2kg tomato and chilli sauce, and 3x2kg tomato and roasted garlic sauce...... plus 10 packs fruit crispbreads. Total (including postage) came to £16.21, and I've now gone from 'only a couple of jars' to 'a plentiful supply' with my pasta sauces :D

But I was a very good girl, and discarded the chocolate bars and cakes that got added on my trawl through the site (but only 'cos that meant I could get the 3rd tomato and garlic sauce without jumping up a postage rate.......)

I'm going to have to continue with my 'eat from freezers' exercise next month though, as I need space to portion up and freeze the soup and sauces

Another nsd - back at work so no time to shop - am firmly holding the belief that shops all shut at 5.30pm then I can't go to them at night (send dh if an utter emergency) Am aiming to finish off the month with 2 more so hopefully will be on 16/20 by then and will be quite chuffed with myself tbh.

Am ready to set target as 15 for July mainly since I am at work till 23rd so have little spending time.
    Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
    Emergency fund £1000/£1000
    Savings for big things £9017

Approved Foods - they sell stuff just past or very close to sell by dates for well below RRP. But you have to be careful to balance out the savings on the goods against the cost of postage (£5.25 for a parcel up to 28kg).

I used to get my pasta sauces Whoopsied at S/flds or C00p, but both stores have closed in the last 12 months - and Mr M (who took over at the S/flds site) rarely have any at reduced prices (it's something I check for as I leave work most days, as we get through a fair amount when I can get it at a good price). Compared to what I used to pay, the App Foods price is good :D (used to pay 49p/300g, which works out at £1.63/kg, for a stores own brand - or 97p/kg when I was really lucky and managed to pick it up at 29p/300g - but have just paid £1.23/kg including postage charge for a 'big name' brand)

I normally use 150g per portion - so, with 7 x 2kg containers containers on the way, I'll have around 90 portions in the freezer to keep us going :T

  • ermmm........me a bit lost...........haven't been keeping up with the thread recently so apologies to everyone.

Hugs to those that need them, congrats to those that deserve them and commiserations to those finding their NSDs very elusive (me included).

Wanted to put loads of 'whooping smilies' in this post but I'm in a bit of a rush.........Booked our one and only family holiday today.......we've never been away together and are unlikely to afford it ever again.

    We're going to Disn3yworld next year...........for Halloween :eek::T:T:T:T:T.

Costing me a whole year's wages (work part time on minimum wage!)

I am ssssoooooooooo excited. Told the kids and DS2 just said "But I wanted to go to Disn3yland Paris" Kids!!!!!!!

But then they originally wanted to go to Butlins................(true!)

Oh, and NSD 17 today as DH paid the deposit! It gets better and better........(I love my DH )
Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!
